How To Unlock Sandbox Mode in Manor Lords
Manor Lords is a city builder and real-time strategy game that allows the player to assume complete control over a small village as it grows into a large settlement. At the start of a new game, players can choose three different scenarios that vary in difficulty levels, starting position, and goal. You can unlock a sandbox mode for those who want a more custom, endless experience.
Manor Lords has three separate scenarios: Rise to Prosperity, Restoring the Peace, and On the Edge. Rise to Prosperity is the easiest scenario, helping players learn the city-building mechanics of the game without the risk of combat, while Restoring the Peace and On the Edge ramp up the difficulty significantly. Ultimately, each has an end goal, whether it be population or town growth or expansion and complete domination of the landscape.

How To Unlock Sandbox Mode In Manor Lords
Setting To Start Sandbox Mode
You can unlock sandbox mode in Manor Lords in one of two ways. First, you can start a new game and select “none” under the end goal options. Whenever you begin a new game, each scenario allows you to alter your game's winning condition.
Usually, you win a given scenario by growing your settlement to a certain size or expanding across the map, but selecting none gives you free rein to accomplish whatever goals you desire. You must still select from one of the three pre-made scenarios, but you will never be hit with a victory screen.
While sandbox mode in "Rise to Prosperity" is also an option, there is no way to expand your territory once you reach "Large Town" status since this scenario strips the game of all combat and expansion mechanics.
If you are already in a scenario and wish to continue playing in sandbox mode, you can keep playing after meeting the win condition. Once you have fulfilled the end goal in any of the three scenarios, you are prompted to either end or continue with your settlement. In "Restoring the Peace," your main goal is to drive out your primary adversary, the Baron. On the Edge is the harshest game mode, requiring a large population increase in Manor Lords and complete control over the map.
When Should You Pick Sandbox Mode In Manor Lords
Since there is no dedicated sandbox mode in Manor Lords, you still need to choose from one of the three pre-set scenarios. Restoring the peace is the best scenario to play in sandbox mode. This is the most balanced version of the game, providing a perfect mixture of city building, management, and combat sections.
This will be the ideal challenge if you breeze past "Rise to Prosperity." Once you drive the Baron out and meet your win condition, you can continue taking over the entire map.
"On the Edge" is a grueling game mode only reserved for the most experienced Manor Lords players. Combat is regular and challenging, maintaining influence in Manor Lords is a constant struggle, and materials are fewer and far between.
Both "On the Edge" and "Rise to Prosperity" also have little to do after you reach the initial victory screen. If you want your settlement in Manor Lords to continue indefinitely, with some goals on the horizon, then Restoring the Peace is your best choice.
