Kei Uzuki is being hinted at not actually being the ultimate villain, leading to a potential united front against JAA.

The upcoming battle in Sakamoto Days will be the best yet, bringing chaos and revealing Slur's true motives.

Shonen Jump has a wide range of manga that fall into the action genre, but the assassin-centered series Sakamoto Days is the a true hidden gem among the publication's lineup. The creator of the series, Yuto Suzuki, brings a very different perspective on how battle sequences could be narrated in a shonen manga. While most of Shonen Jump's manga feature supernatural power elements to make the battle look cool, Yuto Suzuki has made Sakamoto Days impressive and eccentric in ways that typically veer away from the supernatural.

Though Sakamoto Days has featured a lot of unique battles in its past issues, an upcoming battle will likely be the best the series has ever had. Takamura, the strongest member of the Order organization – and possibly of the series – has set his eyes on Taro Sakamoto, the titular protagonist, and Yoichi Nagumo, a fan-favorite supporting character.

The latest arc of Sakamoto Days has plunged the series into unprecedented chaos. What began as a mission to stop Kei Uzuki, also known as Slur, has spiraled into something far more complex. Enter Rion Akao, existing as a split personality within Slur, adding a whole new layer of intrigue to the mix. Now, the chairman of JAA has no choice but to call for the help of Takamura to combat the mounting threats, even if it means taking on the former Order members, Nagumo and Sakamoto.

Sakamoto Will See His First Defeat In The Series

Sakamoto admits that Takamura has only gotten stronger since he last worked with him

Chapter #163 of Sakamoto Days, titled "Misfortune", delivers a bombshell as the chairman of JAA issues a warrant against Nagumo, Sakamoto, and Uzuki for allegedly conspiring against the organization. Amid the ensuing confusion about what to do with Uzuki, Takamura takes matters into his own hands and swiftly confronts the trio. In chapter #164, "Takamura", the tension escalates as Takamura decisively neutralizes Uzuki and Nagumo, leaving Sakamoto to face off against the formidable opponent alone.

As the battle continues, Sakamoto finds himself on the defensive, acknowledging Takamura's undeniable growth in strength since their days together in Order. Despite Sakamoto's impressive record of never losing a battle, even after retiring from his life as an assassin, the odds are stacked against him in this confrontation with Takamura. It appears increasingly likely that Sakamoto may face his first defeat. Sakamoto will have to make a smarter choice and find a way to get out of the museum while also taking care of others and then plan against JAA alongside others, including Slur.

Kei Uzuki Isn't The Final Villain of the Sakamoto Days

Sakamoto Days chapter #163 proves that Slur isn't the main villain.

Since the unveiling of Kei Uzuki's history with Sakamoto, Nagumo, and Rion, discerning Slur as the main antagonist of the series has become increasingly challenging. While Rion Akao may harbor intentions of terminating Uzuki and concluding their cat-and-mouse game, the latest predicament will compel these four characters to unite against the JAA organization, and, in the midst of this turmoil, Yuto Suzuki may finally expose Slur's true motive against JAA.

Depending on the reveal, there is a strong possibility that the series may feature Sakamoto, alongside his former and current buddies, taking on the JAA and potentially putting an end to the organization's sinister plans. Takamura undoubtedly stands as the most formidable obstacle for Sakamoto and his allies to surmount. With the series' pacing, it appears that Sakamoto Days is approaching its climax, and this battle manga is poised to deliver its most thrilling and epic arc yet in its final stages.
