According to a report by Variety, Kingdom has earned a massive total of $56 million in its first weekend at the box office, coming in at the top spot for the week. It is the second-highest debut for a Planet of the Apes reboot movie, though it falls short of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' $72 million take.
