Stardew Valley Player’s Ominous Conversation With Their Spouse Turns It Into A Horror Game

Summary Marrying Abigail in Stardew Valley comes with quirky conversations.

Abigail's morbid personality is endearing to some, concerning to others.

New dialog updates in the game show the characters' snarkier and darker sides.

An ominous conversation on the first day of marriage left one Stardew Valley player feeling very concerned. Characters in Stardew Valley have been known to be quirky and odd, but many fans appreciate this and can find a few characters they can relate to in the town. These personalities have been solidified even more with the additional scenes and dialog that were recently added. Some dialog options that appeared in-game have been strange, but ever since the 1.6 update was released, new and even more bizarre conversations keep popping up, much like the one this Stardew player encountered.

Reddit user citizennumber3 shared a conversation they had with Abigail on their first day of marriage. She mentioned the shrine that had been set up on the farm for Grandpa and then told them she'd set up a little shrine next to it for the player when they pass.

Many comments joked about the fact that they hoped citizennumber3 made sure to leave everything to Krobus just in case Abigail was trying to get the farm and the wealth that came along with it. Others said to be wary of food she made, just in case she was planning something dubious.

Abigail Likes The Morbid Things In Life

Fans Who Choose To Marry Her Should Know Her Personality

Of course, the comment is actually supposed to be endearing and a sweet sentiment, but at first glance it does come across as a little concerning. Comments were saying that was part of the perks of marrying a Goth girl, since Abigail is known to be a little on the morbid side. She is often found visiting the graveyard late at night, wishing to go on epic adventures in the mines, eating Amethyst gems, and gifting the player things like bombs, so thinking ahead to the afterlife is on par for her.

This morbidity might not be for everyone, but if Abigail is on someone's list of romance options, it's something they should expect, especially if they get as far as marrying her. With the vastly different personalities of the 12 marriage candidates in Stardew Valley, there is something for everyone if Abigail's comments don't sit right with the player. Since even more dialog options have been added, it seems as though these characters are showing a snarkier and darker side than before. They are also even more reactive to everything going on in town, which is something many players are grateful for.

The Amethyst loving townie will always be drawn to the morbid things in life and fans who choose to marry her should definitely expect that. However, it does seem strange that she mentioned death the day after the wedding, instead of waiting to talk about it until much later. Though waiting to talk about this could cause a rift in the marriage and end in a dramatic divorce, so maybe Abigail made the right choice in freaking out this Stardew Valley player after all.
