Electronic Arts has revealed The Sims 4's latest season, which will focus on the love lives of the Sims. Forming relationships has always been a major part of the life-simulation series since its launch back in the year 2000 with players able to create characters and have them form families with either their other creations, or the NPCs found in the game, and several expansions over the years focused on dating as a way to build this out from just the standard dialogue choices players have when talking to another character.

As shown in a new Roadmap video on the official The Sims YouTube channel, The Sims 4's "Season of Love" will add two free stylish updates to further customize a Sims' look to get them ready for their date, which can now take place at two new destination kits. There is also a new flirtatious expansion pack included.

While the video and the accompanying page on The Sims 4 website didn't elaborate further, it did encourage players to "check back soon for more updates". The images accompanying the new destination kits did allude to a bar and a pool, however.

Several Past Sims Expansions Have Built Upon Romance

Ever since 2001's "Hot Date" expansion pack for the first The Sims game, Electronic Arts has added new packs, locations, and features to build upon the romantic side of the Sims, with Nightlife for The Sims 2 and Late Night for The Sims 3. The Sims 4's Dine Out also featured dating mechanics that seem extremely likely to return in the new Season of Love.

The Sims: Hot Date was the first time players were able to visit lots other than the Sim's home lot.

Since then, with the various kits and packs available on The Sims 4's store, players have been able to buy items such as intimate clothing for their Sims, build a romantic garden, or even plan their dream wedding once things get serious. While it's yet to be seen exactly what the new Seasons of Love season will add, it's sure to enrich this side to the game even further.

One thing that was missing from the reveal video and the Roadmap was when The Sims 4's Season of Love would begin. While the official website says it's already "here", suggesting it could be a Summer event that lasts between May and July, these items and kits have yet to become available. Hopefully, Electronic Arts will have more information for players soon.
