Seeking Sister Wife’s Garrick Merrifield has exhibited some odd behavior on and off the show, and he may be a narcissist. He joined Seeking Sister Wife season 3 alongside his wife, Dannielle Merrifield, in hopes of finding a sister-wife. During their first season, Garrick began dating Brazilian woman Roberta Pache, who didn’t speak English, so they communicated with her via a translator app. Garrick went as far as to divorce his first wife, Dannielle, to help bring Roberta to the States. However, this plan failed, and they did not end up with Roberta.

Garrick was determined to expand his family beyond his wife and two teenagers they share, so they returned for Seeking Sister Wife seasons 4 and 5. They dated another woman, Lea, while still pursuing Roberta, but Garrick did not end up with either of them. During Seeking Sister Wife season 5, Garrick’s ego has been out of control as he began dating Nathalia Lima, his 26-year-old Brazilian girlfriend. After the season wrapped filming, Garrick and Dannielle welcomed their third child, Leia Lilly Melisa Merrifield. However, Garrick is still hungry for power and attention, like a true narcissist.

Garrick exhibits pretentious behavior. During Seeking Sister Wife season 3, he disregarded Dannielle’s feelings as he pursued a relationship with Roberta. He wanted to bring her to the United States so she could live there with them as a family unit. To do so, he had to divorce Dannielle after 13 years, which she was devastated about. She agreed, but only at the request of Garrick. Roberta never made it to the States and strung along the Merrifields throughout the end of Seeking Sister Wife seasons 3 and 4.

Despite no certainty, Garrick thought he could convince Roberta to move to the U.S. and continued sending her money throughout Seeking Sister Wife season 4. Garrick wasn’t satisfied with two potential wives and began the pursuit of a third wife, which didn’t work. All the while, Dannielle exhibited signs of jealousy, and Garrick didn't care. He lost both his potential second and third wives and left where he started with only Dannielle. Garrick was too stubborn to consider Dannielle’s feelings or realize Roberta was playing them all along.

In Seeking Sister Wife season 5, he began dating another Brazilian woman, Nathalia, who was 14 years younger than him. He proposed to her, knowing Dannielle wasn’t invested in the relationship. On Instagram, Garrick shared a post hinting that men are “the kings of the Earth,” which tracks with his behavior on Seeking Sister Wife. Dannielle has sat back and allowed Garrick to ruin her life in the process.

He even shared a shirtless video at a lower angle to show off his chest. “Keep pushing my friends, today is a new day,” the reality star said while flexing his muscles. Garrick enjoys the attention he gets from being on Seeking Sister Wife and has admitted he wants more than just Dannielle in his life.

Garrick’s content on social media is very strange. After a glance at his Instagram account, he rarely posts about his wife, Dannielle. Instead, Garrick’s Instagram is full of religious quotes and videos about himself, many of which are extremely odd. In one video, Garrick stitched a video representation of sperm inserting an egg paired with a very long religious quote about a woman getting pregnant. The quote read in part, “Romans 9:9-16 (NASB95) 9 For this is the word of promise: ‘AT THIS TIME I WILL COME, AND SARAH SHALL HAVE A SON.”

The February 2023 Instagram post was rather disturbing. The representation of sperm entering a woman’s reproductive system might have been an educational video, but it was still outlandish for the reality star to post. He tagged his wife in the video, which may have been a reference to her being pregnant with their third child. At the time, they couldn’t share the news of Dannielle’s pregnancy because it hadn't aired on Seeking Sister Wife. However, it was still a peculiar way to announce that Dannielle was having a baby.

Garrick Merrifield Hides Behind His "Religion"

Garrick may be hiding behind his “religion” as a reason to live a polygamous lifestyle. In Seeking Sister Wife, the Merrifields revealed they were not Mormons. Garrick also explained that they were not affiliated with any religion, but he was inspired by God’s acceptance of plural marriage in the Bible. From there, Garrick decided he wanted a polygamous lifestyle, which Dannielle was not on board with at first. She ended up coming around but still has hesitations about the lifestyle. At times, it seems like Garrick is pursuing this just to sleep with multiple women.

“Some people live this lifestyle just to have sex freely, but that would be like, wrong and evil.”

During Seeking Sister Wife season 4, Garrick wanted Roberta to get pregnant immediately. Dannielle was not on board with this plan and urged her husband not to do it. She had already divorced him so he could bring Roberta to the U.S. during season 3, which never happened. Garrick disregarded her concerns and traveled to Brazil intending to impregnate Roberta in Seeking Sister Wives season 4. After that relationship failed, he found another Brazilian girlfriend, who was far younger than him, to satisfy his needs, but he didn’t know Dannielle was pregnant.

Seeking Sister Wife star Garrick is a narcissist through and through. He has no respect for Dannielle, who changed her lifestyle and divorced him to stay in their relationship. Garrick is a selfish person who only cares about his well-being. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to make sure he’s happy and satisfied.
