Summary Fans are divided over crew dynamics in Below Deck season 11, with tensions rising between Chef Nick, Paris, and Fraser.
Chef Nick's high rank on the yacht is causing clashes with Paris and Fraser, leading to conflict and viewer support for the chef's decisions.
As Below Deck season 11 nears its end, the power dynamics between crew members like Fraser and Chef Nick are shifting dramatically.
Below Deck season 11 fans are taking one crew member’s side over another after a difficult charter left this shocking yachtie in the right. Below Deck season 11’s crew has been working like well-oiled machine throughout the season, with minimal issues and very few hiccups outside of the problem crew members Captain Kerry Titheradge has let go. After dealing with issues from original Bosun Jared Woodin and former Chef Anthony Iracane, Captain Kerry has an eye for who could cause problems aboard St. David. While he’s been dealing with interior team issues, fans were shocked to see where he stood.
In the most recent episode of Below Deck season 11, fans were shocked to see stew Paris Field go against what Chef Nick Tatlock said in favor of the instruction given to her by Chief Stew Fraser Olender. While Fraser is technically Paris’ boss, Chef Nick outranks Fraser and thus his commands should be paid attention to over Fraser’s when dictating meals and plating. According to Reddit user u/brandcolt, “Paris needs to get into her own lane this is ridiculous. Any of the old chefs would be tearing her apart right now.” Many fans agreed that Paris was wrong.

Is Chef Nick’s Rank Enough To Keep Him In The Right?
Close
While many were on Paris’ side in previous episodes of Below Deck season 11 where Chef Nick was displaying some unsavory behavior, fans turned on her quickly when she began to defy the Chef. After being told how to plate the guests’ meal by Fraser, Paris refused to listen to the chef, instead opting for her boss’ choice. According to u/Mamasan-, “Older seasons the chef is like way above everyone else but Fraser is making it seem like they are beneath him, it’s so weird.” Unfortunately, Fraser’s long-standing superiority complex put Paris in hot water with Captain Kerry.
Throughout Below Deck season 11, Fraser’s wishes have been considered in every instance, but with Chef Nick’s recent entrance, things appear to be changing aboard St. David. While Nick’s first appearance was met with some pushback, it’s clear that his time aboard the superyacht will be good for the rest of the crew, if for no other reason, than to learn how rank works. The chef, who Captain Kerry reminded Paris and Fraser has three stripes, is one of the highest ranking officials aboard the superyacht. Fraser and Paris are both beneath the chef and should listen to his decisions.
While Below Deck season 11 is coming to a close, the season has truly shown just how much Fraser needs a reality check after his time aboard St. David. After dealing with Fraser’s issues with his own team, watching him tackle issues with the chef involved has been draining for viewers. As Fraser has been difficult throughout Below Deck season 11, it wasn’t surprising to see him take issue with Chef Nick, but knowing that viewers went from being irritated at Chef Nick for his past behavior to supporting his decisions was a fascinating turn of Below Deck events.
Below Deck airs Mondays at 8 p.m. EDT on Bravo, then streams the following day on Peacock.
