In Season Two of The Rings of Power, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season One’s epic scope and ambition, the new season plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.

What The Rings Of Power's Season 2 Trailer Reveals About The Show's Return
Sauron Will Be A Big Focus In Season 2
The Rings of Power's season 1 finale features Sauron arriving in Mordor, and the season 2 trailer reveals that the Dark Lord's domain will be growing closer to how it appears during the Third Age in the upcoming batch of episodes. It only appears briefly in the video, but it seems that Barad-dûr will begin to take shape in season 2. Barad-dûr is essentially Sauron's central fortress in Middle-earth, and it's the structure that eventually comes to feature his burning eye on top of it during the events of The Lord of the Rings.
Also teased in the trailer is that some of the show's titular rings will be forged in The Rings of Power season 2. Three elves, including Galadriel, are shown to be wearing Rings of Power, and King Durin III (Peter Mullan) is also shown with one of the seven that go to the Dwarf lords. Celebrimbor (Charles Edwards), a master smith Elf, will seemingly be crucial to the story this season, as it is he and Sauron disguised as Annatar who actually forge the Rings of Power in Eregion.
Other actors returning in The Rings of Power season 2 include Ismael Cruz Cordova, Lloyd Owen, Nazanin Boniadi, Robert Aramayo, Maxim Baldry, and Sophia Nomvete. Sam Hazeldine is also briefly shown in the trailer as Adar, a role played in season 1 by Joseph Mawle.
The main focus of the trailer is Sauron's growing power and the forging of the rings, so the Harfoots don't make an appearance. Daniel Weyman's The Stranger, who is theorized to be an early version of Gandalf, is shown very briefly wielding a staff in a desert location, though his true identity still remains a mystery. Many questions remain about The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2, but audiences are evidently in for a darker outing in Middle-earth.
