Sukuna's Most Powerful Attack In Jujutsu Kaisen Puts Gojo To Shame
Warning: Contains spoilers for chapter #259 of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Summary Sukuna's Divine Flame technique in Jujutsu Kaisen is deadlier than Gojo's Unlimited Void.
Divine Flame requires preparation with Cleave and Dismantle, creating a lethal trap after Sukuna's latest binding vow.
Divine Flame ensures instant death, unlike Unlimited Void, but would not have been able to defeat Gojo by itself.
Jujutsu Kaisen has finally revealed Sukuna's mysterious fire technique and it arguably puts even Gojo's strongest technique to shame. The latest chapter explains Sukuna's Divine Flame technique in great detail along with the reason he could not use the powerful technique against Gojo despite being far more deadly than Unlimited Void.
Chapter #259 of Jujutsu Kaisen explains that Sukuna can only access Divine Flame after he has used Cleave and Dismantle. Divine Flame is much like hearth whose doors Sukuna can open only after he has prepped his ingredients or rather his opponents using Cleave and Dismantle, thus explaining why Sukuna unleashes the technique using the word "open".
The chapter also reveals the science behind Divine Flame's scorching heat and quick-spreading flames which functions on the principles of a thermobaric reaction by scattering combustible particles and then igniting them with Sukuna's signature fire arrow. The chapter rightfully describes the technique as Sukuna's ultimate secret art and though he employs a binding vow to increase the technique's speed and range, its sheer destructiveness makes Gojo's Unlimited Void and Hollow Purple Techniques pale in comparison.

Sukuna's Divine Flame Technique Is Far More Deadly Than Unlimited Void

Chapter #259 explains that despite its firepower, Divine Flame lacks speed and has a small effective range which Sukuna overcomes using a binding vow to try and defeat Yuji, Choso, and the remaining sorcerers on the battlefield within his domain. The binding vow restricts Sukuna from Using Divine Flame on multiple targets unless inside Malevolent Shrine.
The pact also extends Malevolent Shrine's Cursed Technique, allowing him to fill the entire domain with explosive Cursed Energy that is later ignited. Thus, by simply changing the conditions of the barrier of his domain, Sukuna sets up an almost inescapable trap that scorches everything within Malevolent Shrine to ashes with firepower comparable to a vacuum bomb.
Unlimited Void does not instantly kill an opponent, unlike Sukuna's Divine Flame, which creates an inescapable death trap.
As debilitating as Gojo's Unlimited Void may be, it does not guarantee instant death like Divine Flame does. Moreover, Unlimited Void's effect does not apply to anyone touching Gojo, offering a very slim, but not nonexistent, chance of escaping its effects. In comparison, as seen from Choso's death in the latest chapter, there is no way to escape Divine Flame's wrath, especially if one is at the epicenter of the explosion. The only reason Yuji and Maki were able to survive was in fact due to Todo's genius backup plan involving Boogie Woogie.
Could Sukuna Could Have Defeated Gojo Without the Ten Shadows?
Divine Flame Alone Would Not Have Been Able to Overpower Gojo

Seeing as Divine Flame is Sukuna's ultimate ace, the fact that he did not use it against Gojo was taken to imply that Sukuna had not given his all against Gojo. However, chapter #259 explains that the reason Sukuna could not use Divine Flame against Gojo was because
he had to keep altering the barrier of his domain, continually restricting its range during his domain clash with Gojo. As a result, Sukuna did not have enough firepower to unseal Divine Flame. This can be interpreted as the domain clash interrupting the flow of the steps necessary to prepare Divine Flame before opening the metaphorical doors of the technique.
That said, it is unlikely that Sukuna would have been able to defeat Gojo with Divine Flame alone. Sukuna's victory over Gojo relied heavily on the Ten Shadows and Mahoraga adaptation, which allowed him to bypass Gojo's infinity with a binding vow as explained in chapter #255. Even though Gojo claims he isn't sure whether he could defeat Sukuna if he hadn't possessed the Ten Shadows Technique in the afterlife, Sukuna most likely would not have been able to get past Gojo's infinity without the Ten Shadows. It is difficult to speculate how potent Divine Flame would have been had Sukuna been able to unseal the technique against Gojo. It is doubtful whether or not the explosion would have affected Gojo even if Sukuna had employed the same binding vow seen in chapter #259.
.
Overall, Sukuna's newly revealed technique in Jujutsu Kaisen all but lives up to its status as Sukuna's ultimate ace. With the latest chapter, Sukuna has finally revealed all his cards that fans know of. Now, all that remains is for Yuji to prove whether he can stand up to Sukuna's might, which even puts Gojo to shame.
