The show was renewed for season 3 in April, although it was unclear when the show would be coming back.
Now, Deadline reports that, according to ABC's new lineup for their 2024-25 primetime schedule, Will Trent season 3 won't be coming back until the midseason, in January 2025. This lines up with the premiere dates of the previous seasons of the show, both of which were at the start of the new calendar year. It joins The Rookie in this midseason premiere time, the latter of which had previously typically premiere in the fall.
