Evil Season 4 Confirms Season 1 Character Return & 2 New Roles Ahead Of Leland's Trial
Summary Evil season 4 introduces two new characters along with Kristen's boss from season 1.
Richard Kind and John Carroll Lynch join the cast for crucial roles in the additional episodes.
The final season of Evil will focus on a showdown between Kristen and Leland, including legal drama elements.
Evil season 4 is bringing back a familiar face from season 1, in addition to two new characters as part of the show's final episodes. It's been well over a year since the Evil season 3 cliffhanger, in which Kristen (Katja Herbers) learns that her missing egg has been stolen from the RSM fertility clinic and implanted in a surrogate with the hopes of bringing about the antichrist. This puts her and her partners — David (Mike Colter), and Ben (Aasif Mandvi) on a collision course with the villainous Leland Towsend (Michael Emerson). It makes up for an eventful Evil season 4, which is confirmed to be the show's last.
TV Insider confirms that Richard Kind (Mad About You) and John Carroll Lynch (American Horror Story) have been cast in key roles in the additional bonus episodes of Evil season 4, which premieres Thursday, May 23 on Paramount+. These are the additional four episodes that Paramount+ ordered to properly wrap up the series. Along with Lynch and Kind, Danny Burstein is reprising his role as DA Lewis Cormier. He previously appeared in four episodes in Evil season 1 as Kristen's boss.
What To Know About Evil Season 4's New Characters
How Will They Impact The Show's Farewell?
Close
Kind is set for a guest role in Evil season 4. He'll play Judge Joseph Jeter, a seemingly straightforward and no-nonsense judge who oversees Leland Townsend’s trial. Jeter values efficiency above all else. As for Lynch, he plays Henry Stick. Assigned to defend Leland, Stick appears to be bumbling and barely able to do his job though that might be a ruse to lure his opponents into a false sense of security. Lynch plays Henry Stick, the attorney assigned to Leland Townsend.
The upcoming installment will continue the series' weekly cases, according to official previews, but the battle between Kristen and Leland will serve as a significant ongoing story. Leland will specifically try to trick Kristen into raising a baby antichrist. This will all build to a confrontation with Leland and the sixty families that comprise the very fact of evil in the modern world.
Ben and David will continue to have their separate arcs, with Ben continuing to run up against his skepticism and David getting recruited for secret missions by the Vatican. But as Evil heads towards its eventual conclusion, the new guest stars will play key roles in the final showdown involving Leland. It also incorporates an aspect of legal drama, a favorite of Robert and Michelle King, who also created The Good Wife and The Good Fight.
Evil seasons 1-2 are available to stream on Netflix and Paramount+.
