Grey's Anatomy Season 21 Loses Another Regular Star In Latest Casting Shakeup
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.
Grey's Anatomy will be down two series regulars when season 21 premieres in the fall. While season 20 is still airing, information has already come to light about the upcoming season. When revealing its fall schedule, ABC shared that Grey's Anatomy will move from its usual Thursday at 9 p.m. EST timeslot to 10 p.m. Additionally, the show is facing budget cuts next season, meaning some characters may appear in fewer episodes. Levi Schmitt actor Jake Borelli is set to exit as a series regular, though sources indicate he will return in Grey's Anatomy season 21 to conclude his character's story.
Now, Deadline reports that another series regular, Midori Francis, who plays intern Mika Yasuda, will also depart the show. Like Borelli, sources say Francis is in negotiations to come back next season to finish Yasuda's story. Francis' exit is being described as "amicable" with the actor wanting to take the "next step" in her career.
