Red Dead Redemption 2 Is One Of Rockstar's Best Stories
And Is Still Visually Impressive Almost Six Years Since Its Launch

While many associate Rockstar Games with its epic crime series, Grand Theft Auto, its best storytelling can be found in the Red Dead Redemption games. Serving as a prequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 tells the story of Arthur Morgan, an enforcer within the doomed Van der Linde gang, and depending on whether players choose a high or low honor playthrough, the game can follow Arthur's heart-wrenching redemption arc that easily places it among Rockstar's best.
The PS3 version of Red Dead Redemption was previously available to stream on PlayStation Plus but was pulled from the service in October 2022. Its PS4 port is now available as part of the GTA+ subscription on PlayStation 5 instead.
Despite launching in 2018 on last-gen consoles and not receiving an upgrade for current-gen consoles like many of its contemporaries, Red Dead Redemption 2 is still visually stunning. Rockstar packed the game full of detail to make it feel truly immersive with there being plenty of sights to behold as players explore its rich open-world version of a fictionalized America at the end of the 19th century from the industrialized city of Saint Denis to the great plains of the West Elizabeth territory.
Red Dead Redemption 2 won several awards upon its release, winning "Best Narrative" at The Game Awards and going on to be placed in many "best games of all time" lists since. The title has already been included in PlayStation Plus before, but those subscribers who missed it the first time round, or simply want to revisit it should certainly consider picking it up when it returns to the subscription's roster on May 21.
