Today's Connections Hints & Answers For May 16, 2024 (Puzzle #339)

Thursday, May 16 Connections took us down a dark path and we ended up losing in today's game. Luckily, we can now share the categories and word groupings to save you from the same tragedy that befell us. It's not that today's answers were very difficult, we just got hung up on a few incorrect guesses.

One of the main factors in our loss today was that we were in too much of a hurry. Taking your time with a game of Connections is important as you need to make sure you've got the right collection of words before hitting submit. Perhaps if we had just slowed down this loss could have been avoided.

Yellow Answers: Revealed & Explained

The only category we scored today was the blue one, I don't think we ever had a chance with yellow as these words didn't really come up in our confusion. PIC and SNAP should have been the obvious starters here, but alas, you can't win them all.

My office chair is currently lowering, I may need to get a new pneumatic cylinder. This has nothing to do with today's Connections, but it's happening at this moment so I thought I would share. ASSURE, AS A VICTORY CINCH ICE LOCK SECURE

SECURE and LOCK were absolutely our downfall in today's game. We spent almost every guess trying to make this incorrect connection work. SECURE, LOCK, CINCH, SECURITY, & SHOT. Looking back now, it's obviously incorrect, but at the time we insisted there was something there. Technically there was something, just not the something we were attempting.

MOVE IN AN EFFORTLESS WAY BREEZE COAST GLIDE SAIL

Blue was the one category we actually scored in today's game, and we got it before getting stuck in the wrong section. SAIL and GLIDE caught our attention right off the bat and it didn't take much longer to match up the other words and get some small victory on this bleak day.

We love a fill-in-the-blank puzzle, and sadly we didn't even get a chance to solve this one. Perhaps next time we'll learn to slow down and take our time. Oops, there goes the chair again, slowly sliding down. It's a weird feeling to just gently creep shorter and shorter. I definitely need a new pneumatic cylinder.
