Dr. Smith was Tammy's doctor and is known for helping patients lose weight, including performing bariatric surgery. Though it's unclear how much weight Misty has lost since receiving weight-loss surgery, she looked like a different person in a December 2023 TikTok post. This clip was filmed about ten months after Misty's bariatric surgery, and in the looped image, Misty's face is almost unrecognizable, as she is skinnier than she's ever been.

In response to the post, Amanda wrote, " Big sis is the littlest sis now. I am so proud of you @Doll1976 always have been. You are my goals. There are no words to express how thankful I am to call you my big sis. Love you. "

Misty's weight loss was undoubtedly inspired by the extraordinary weight-loss journeys of her famous sisters. When 1000-lb Sisters premiered, Tammy weighed almost 700 pounds, and Amy weighed over 400 pounds. Since embarking on the path to health and fitness, Tammy lost 440 pounds, while Amy lost 125 pounds. Not to be left out, their brother, Chris, also had bariatric surgery during season 3 and has since lost 150 pounds. All in all, the Slaton siblings have lost over a thousand pounds over the years, and they're all just getting started.
