Bad Boys 4's Most Exciting Cast Member Comes From Crime Thriller With 98% On Rotten Tomatoes

Summary Bad Boys: Ride or Die introduces exciting new cast members, including Rhea Seehorn as a U.S. Marshal tracking down Mike and Marcus.

Seehorn's return to the crime genre after Better Call Saul brings anticipation for her role as an antagonist with a complex moral compass.

While Seehorn's role in the movie is not confirmed to be substantial, her presence hints at a compelling storyline in Bad Boys 4.

From Eric Dane to Tiffany Haddish, there are a lot of exciting new cast members in Bad Boys: Ride or Die – but one actor in particular is the most tantalizing addition to the ensemble. Set to be released on June 7, 2024, Bad Boys: Ride or Die sees Will Smith and Martin Lawrence’s Miami detectives going on the run after being framed for a crime they didn’t commit. Their late captain is posthumously accused of working with drug dealers and Mike and Marcus are tied to the conspiracy, so they have to clear their names.

The Bad Boys: Ride or Die cast is bringing back some actors from the last movie, Bad Boys for Life, like Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, and Paola Núñez. DJ Khaled is back as Manny the Butcher, Ioan Gruffudd has joined the cast to play Lockwood, and Joe Pantoliano reprises his role as Captain Conrad Howard, despite the character’s death. But there’s one supporting player in the cast whose appearance is more exciting than any of these.

Bad Boys 4 Is Rhea Seehorn's Crime Return 2 Years After Better Call Saul Ended

Bad Boys: Ride or Die sees Rhea Seehorn returning to the crime genre for the first time since Better Call Saul ended two years ago. Seehorn’s character Kim Wexler was introduced as a minor supporting character in the pilot episode, but she became such a beloved fan-favorite figure that she ended up being the series’ second lead opposite Bob Odenkirk’s Jimmy McGill. As Jimmy descended further into moral ambiguity, Kim remained a shining star of morality.

In Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Seehorn is playing a U.S. Marshal who’s tasked with tracking down Mike and Marcus after they go on the run. This is an interesting role, because she’s technically an antagonist – she’s actively working against the protagonists – but she’s also on the right side of the law, just doing her job as a fugitive finder. Seehorn’s role as Kim in Better Call Saul similarly had a complicated place within the justice system and the criminal world, just trying to do the right thing at every turn.

How Big Will Rhea Seehorn's Role In Bad Boys 4 Be?

It’s unclear how big Seehorn’s role in Bad Boys: Ride or Die will be. The main antagonistic force working against Mike and Marcus sounds like it’ll be a major part, but this is a huge movie with a huge cast. Seehorn’s U.S. Marshal isn’t even the main villain; that’s Dane’s character, Banker. If the producers are smart and don’t want to waste a great opportunity, then they’ll give Seehorn a substantial role that she can really sink her teeth into.
