Starfield Update Introduces Easy Solution For All Your Item Storage Needs

Summary Decorate your ship and expand storage easily with Storage Crates in the latest Starfield update.

Storage Crates can hold 150KGs of items, allowing players to bring more loot on their adventures.

The new ship decorating feature adds a fun and creative element to Starfield, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

Starfield players who just can't part with their horde of collected treasures are in luck because the game's most recent update just introduced a way to expand ships' cargo capacities and it's much easier than expected. One of the more common complaints about Bethesda's RPGs is the fact that characters have such a limited carrying weight in relation to the amount of interesting items they can pick up throughout their adventures. While most of this loot can stored in a house or on a companion, Starfield goes one step further by allowing explorers to bring their stash with them.

Posted to Reddit by user Der_Zeitgeist, the newly-added ability to decorate the interiors of ships also allows captains to expand their vessel's storage capacity by simply dropping Storage Crates.

These items are relatively cheap to produce in comparison to an entire cargo bay upgrade and allows players to stash 150KGs of booty that may otherwise have just been dumped on the floor. They also don't take up too much space so with some clever ship architecture, adventurers should be able to build entire rooms dedicated to storing cargo.

Decorating Ships Is Always Fun

Like A Home Away From Home

While the most recent Starfield patch may have turned the most heads for its inclusion of significantly improved maps, the addition of interior ship decorating was a close second on the community's list of anticipated features. Bethesda's sci-fi RPG was already lauded for including a robust and in-depth ship customization toolkit that allows users to design any kind of vessel they could want. The game's earlier versions included a submenu for decorated and designing interiors, but it was widely acknowledged to be a much more limited system when compared to exterior customization.

Taking a page out of Starfield's Outpost builder, the latest patch now allows items to be placed within rooms in a free-form manner, granting more creative freedom and expression. The discovery that Storage Crates count as one of the items that can be used as decoration opens up plenty of opportunities for players looking to amass a wealth of loot without needing to stop at an outpost to drop off their goods. It's certainly a step in the right direction as the Starfield community was becoming concerned about Bethesda's commitment to post-launch updates.

The most recent patch for Starfield didn't just include a more advanced ship decorating features: As mentioned above, it also overhauls the game's map system, allowing players to actually scope out their environments in greater detail as opposed to the threadbare options available in previous versions. Additionally, more difficulty options were also added to allow explorers to better tailor the game to achieve their desired experience.
