The sequel series to The Librarians, titled The Librarians: The Next Chapter, has received a release window by the CW in their latest schedule update. The original fantasy series aired on TNT starting in 2014, following a team of titular Librarians guarding a library filled with important items from across history and mythology. The show was cancelled in 2018 after season 4, but in 2023, the CW revealed their plans to revive the series as the upcoming The Librarians: The Next Chapter on their network.
Now, TV Insider reports that, as part of the CW's fall 2024 schedule, The Librarians: The Next Chapter will premiere on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes will air right after Superman & Lois, making the night a major one for fantasy shows produced for the network. The spinoff's confirmed premiere date means it won't be long until the story of The Librarian franchise continues.
