Terminator 2 took place predominantly in 1995, while The Sarah Connor Chronicles is set in 1999 (although interestingly, the show retcons Terminator 2 to have taken place in 1997). Other entries in the series all take place in the future, meaning that – given The Sarah Connor Chronicles' timeline retcon is not widely regarded as canon – Terminator Zero will be the first franchise entry to explore what happens in 1997.
