Xbox Game Pass subscribers are already set up for a great weekend as Microsoft locks in two games for its weekly Free Play Days program, allowing users to get a taste of some new experiences with paying a cent. Not only do players have an opportunity to experience an explosive co-op shooter that's filled plenty of horrific monsters and buckets of blood, those squeamish fans can avoid the mayhem and revel in the joys of rampant capitalism. Better yet, if either experience is really appealing, they both sport a major discount so the fun doesn't have to end on Monday.
Per the official Xbox blog, this week's Free Play Days games including Killing Floor 2 and Planet Coaster: Console Edition, both of which can be played entirely with spending a dollar until May 19. The former may not be for everyone given its emphasis on gratuitous violence and gore, but in a genre that constantly lives in the shadow of Left 4 Dead, it's managed to carve out a unique identifty and passionate community. As for Planet Coaster, not only is it an homage to older management games, it also blazes a trail with some excellent console optimizations.

Killing The Floor And Building A Park
A Little Something For Everyone
As mentioned above, those who have played Left 4 Dead or the more recent Back 4 Blood will know what they're getting into upon booting up Killing Floor 2. As a motely crew of soldiers, mercenaries, and hardcore civilians, players will need to survive in a world that's been overrun by mutated clones produced by the sinister Horzine Corporation. The only thing more plentiful than the Zeds constantly charging at players are the weapons and upgrades used to mow them down in turn.
As for Planet Coaster, Frontier Entertainment's excellent management game is both an excellent place for newcomers to start their foray into the genre and will likely satisfy veterans looking for a challenge. The Console Edition sports a number of improvements that make it run especially well on Xbox, including an improved control scheme that makes it easier than every to design and construct any kind of theme park. Players can either build their own attractions or going through the single-player campaign, building the most dangerous (and exciting) roller coasters the world has ever seen.
Xbox Game Pass' latest Free Play Days should be enough to keep subscribers happy for a few days but once the next week hits, there's still plenty to come. On May 21, the long-awaited Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 arrives on the service and it'll be followed by the popular co-op game Moving Out 2. There's always something to look forward when it comes Game Pass' ever-shifting roster of titles.
