Sister Wives: Meri Brown's Worthy Up Venture Could Fail (Is She Riding For A Fall?)
Summary Meri Brown's new life coaching venture, Worthy Up, is inspired by the book "Worthy," and offers memberships ranging from $150 to $600.
Despite her history with Kody Brown, Meri continues to focus on growing her business empire post-divorce.
Critics question Meri's credibility as a self-help guru, but she has shown resilience. After leaving Kody, she expanded her business successfully.
Sister Wives star Meri Brown has always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but her newest business venture's headed for disaster. Meri was Kody Brown's first wife. They were married in 1990, and they had one child together. In total, Kody had four wives and 18 children. Things started to unravel when Kody's third wife, Christine Brown, left him in 2021. In 2022, his second wife, Janelle Brown, followed her out the door.
Though Meri believed in their polygamous lifestyle, the neglect and humiliation she endured at Kody's hands got to be too much. In January 2023, the Sister Wives season 18 stars announced that, after 32 years of marriage, they were finished. With her marriage over, Meri turned her focus to growing her business empire. Though Meri has had some success with past ventures, this new business may miss the mark.
Meri Brown Seems To Be Copying The "Worthy" Concept
Where She Got The Idea
According to Meri's official website, the Sister Wives star has been busy at work lately. The landing page of her site reads, "Unveiling The Heart. A Journey Through The Layers Of Meri's World," and focuses on her business ventures. A scroll down the page finds Meri's Business Portfolio. "From motivational speaking engagements to product lines, every project is a reflection of Meri’s belief in the power of self-worth," reads the website copy, followed by a list of Meri's business ventures.
In addition to her B&B, Lizzie's Heritage Inn, Meri works with Parklane and Lularoe - she's also available on Cameo.
Meri's newest venture, Worthy Up, is a life coaching service. Meri credits the idea to the book Worthy: How To Believe You Are Enough And Transform Your Life by New York Times best-selling author Jamie Kern Lima. Meri recently posted an Instagram photo of herself holding up the book. In the caption, Meri explains that she discovered the book two years ago during a weekend getaway and found great value in it. "That weekend, Worthy Up was born," wrote Meri.

A perusal of Meri's website reveals that Worthy Up offers various services and experiences. Annual memberships aren't cheap, costing either $150, $300, or $600, depending on the level of membership. Different levels offer extras like early access to events, discounts on experiences, and one-on-one virtual sessions with Meri, among other things. Meri also intends to offer experiences throughout the year, and is currently offering a group trip to Disneyland with Meri for $300 a head.
It's a chance to go to Disneyland with Meri, which a lot of fans would probably be interested in, since Meri seems personable and fun.
Meri Brown May Not Be A Real Self-Help Guru
She's Got A Lot To Prove
Close
Worthy Up is a life coaching service, and it's hard to imagine Meri as a self-help guru after watching her navigate life with Kody since the 2010 premiere of Sister Wives. She stuck around and put up with Kody for way too long, even after he openly admitted that he wasn't attracted to her. Even when he told her that they would never have a real marriage, she stayed loyal to him. It's understandable that Meri believed in saving her marriage, but it's hard to believe that she has the authority to guide others on their self-help journeys.
For this venture to work, Meri would have to prove that she can be taken seriously as a leader, which would be harder to do in the context of her past behavior.
That being said, Meri has proven that she is capable of doing hard things. It couldn't have been easy for Meri to leave Kody. After 32 years of marriage, walking away must have been like stepping into the abyss. She was cut off from her Sister Wives and all their children. With her only child grown up and out of the house, this had to have been very lonely for Meri, especially after her brief, disappointing relationship with Amos Andrews. Despite all that, Meri has been able to grow her business empire and even lose weight while doing it.
