Superboy's Hardcore New Weapons Make Him the Perfect Space Hero (Even Without Kryptonian Powers)

Summary In Action Comics #1056, Superboy shows he doesn't need Kryptonian powers to be a hero, instead excelling with his unique non-Kryptonian abilities, as well as the addition of weaponry, such as an intimidating looking space-ax.

Even without his familiar powers, Connor Kent is on track to become space's ultimate superhero, showcasing a new trajectory for the cloned son of Superman.

In Action Comics #1065, Superboy and Supergirl raid Brainiac's armory, and he walks away with two new alien weapons. The most impressive weapon is a glowing blue axe, Connor's preferred weapon of choice. With the new weapon, he has no problem fighting multiple aliens at once with a large, heavy axe, despite not having his super-strength. Kon-El's second weapon is a small gun. The gun is a backup, and he hasn't used it yet. However, it's a good idea for him to have it, since Kryptonians are used to being able to attack from long distances.

While he's without his Kryptonian abilities, Connor can still feel his tactile telekinesis. Superboy currently can't use it, but it's notable that he can still feel it, when he can't feel his other superpowers. Kon-El is due for a major power upgrade, and if he figures out how to use his tactile telekinesis, he'll become the ultimate alien superhero. He's already fighting off aliens using only weapons, so being able to use his tactile telekinesis would make him practically unbeatable. After all, Brainiac is only expecting to have to fight against Kryptonian powers.

His Tactile Telekinesis Will Be Key

Superboy may be a clone of Clark Kent, but he's carving his own heroic path. The new trajectory that Kon-El's on is leading him to become space's ultimate superhero, unlike any other Kryptonian. Connor's use of alien weapons is very fitting for him personality wise, and it's something he doesn't even need his super-strength to do. After House of Brainiac is over, he might find ways to incorporate weapons into his heroism in the future. Superboy is on track to be far more than just a member of the Super-Family.
