Bedford’s Ximphonic Versus, published by his own Phantom Blade Productions, is an intense labor of love. It tells the story of Prince Adonnis, the last of Noctium Imperium. While on his way to the signing of a peace treaty, Adonnis meets Princess Sappherios, and the two fall in love. Adonnis’ life is complicated when he is pulled away from Sappherios and sent on a fantastic journey.

Ximphonic Versus Wil Soon Get Its Own Action Figure Line

Ximphonic Versus is a labor of love for Bedford, and one that has been a long time coming. The idea that would flower into Ximphonic Versus began nearly 30 years ago. Bedford’s comic was rejected by numerous publishers due to its unique nature. Taking matters into their own hands, Bedford launched Phantom Blade Productions, and began publishing Ximphonic Versus. The book has attracted attention from high profile industry figures, such as Image Comics Publisher Jim Valentino and creator Leila Del Luca. Despite all of this, Ximphonic Versus has flown under a lot of readers’ radars–but that is about to change.

Earlier this year, Bedford announced that Ximphonic Versus would make an unprecedented leap into the mainstream. First, in conjunction with Play Arts, known for their Final Fantasy action figures, Bedford will release a line of toys based on the property. Prototypes for the figures are shared here, and will be in stores later this year. Furthermore, fans can soon see Ximphonic Versus on television, as Bedford has joined forces with Global Genesis Group to produce an animated series. Bedford will be involved in the series’ production. No air date has been given for the animated series yet.
