All Reagents, Greeneries, & Indulgences in Hades 2

All Reagents, Greeneries, & Indulgences in Hades 2

There are three types of items in Hades 2; Reagents, Greeneries, and Indulgences. Reagents and Greeneries are ingredients that Melinoë can use in the Cauldron. Found at the Crossroads, the Cauldron lets Melinoë craft Incantations; special spells that unlock important tools, resources, or areas for Melinoë.

The main difference between Reagents and Greeneries is that Reagents are stones and minerals, while Greeneries are flowers, seeds, and plant material. Indulgences are more of the catch-all category, featuring some returning resources from Hades. All three categories include items vital to some of Hades 2's most important mechanics.

The current list of Reagents, Greeneries, and Indulgences is based on the Early Access version of Hades 2 and may change after full release.

Reagents are minerals and similar substances that Melinoë needs for many of Hades 2's biggest mechanics. While each Reagent can be used for an Incantation, some have multiple uses in other mechanics. The first and most common Reagent would have to be Bones, easily found throughout Erebus or while using a Main Weapon with Grave Thirst.

You can even get Bones by fishing in Hades 2. Bones are the main currency used by the Wretched Broker in the Crossroads, allowing you to purchase other items, such as the ever-essential Ashes.

In order to unlock the Wretched Broker, you need to complete the Summoning of Mercantile Fortune Incantation. This Incantation costs 10 Bones to cast.

Ashes are another common Erebus drop used to unlock Arcana Cards; various upgrades that make Melinoë stronger on her journey through the Underworld. Psyche is another Reagent connected to Arcana Cards, used to increase Grasp. Psyche can be found in the same manner as Ashes; through room rewards or Wretched Broker purchases.

Lastly, Moon Dust is essential to upgrading Arcana Cards, but can only be purchased from the Wretched Broker or crafted with alchemy. A few other special Reagents include Silver, an essential item for many important tools, and Bronze, used in Nocturnal Arms and Aspects.

Greeneries are almost entirely devoted to Incantation production. Greeneries grow throughout the Underworld and are easily harvested by hand. However, unlike Reagents, you can develop your own garden of Greeneries by collecting Seeds.

You can dig up Seeds in their appropriate regions using the Silver Spade, a Gathering Tool crafted at the Silver Pool. Growing Seeds is essential if you want to survive the Surface in Hades 2, as it is the best way to acquire Thalamus, a key Incantation ingredient.

Deathcaps are the exception to the rule for Greeneries. Deathcaps can be traded into the Wretched Broker in exchange for Bones.

Seed growth time is measured in "Whiles" in-game, but what a While is may not be clear to all players. Essentially, a While in Hades 2 is equivalent to an encounter. Keep going through your runs, and the seeds will eventually grow. Note that Mystery Seeds are unique and will grow a random Greenery upon planting.

Indulgences are the smallest category of items in Hades 2 but have the most recognizable resources in the franchise. Two of the biggest returning items are Nectar and Ambrosia. Nectar in Hades 2 allows you to grow closer to the gods and other characters you encounter on your journey, such as Hecate, Nemesis, and Odysseus. Ambrosia acts as an advanced version of Nectar to further grow your strongest relationships when visiting the Crossroads Taverna.

If you've completed the Rite of Vapor-Cleansing Incantation and unlocked the Crossroads Hot Springs, you can purchase Bath Salts from the Wretched Broker or dig them up with the Silver Spade. Bath Salts can be given to friends as an invitation to the Hot Springs. Witch's Delight is cooked in the Cauldron with the Beast-Loved Morsel alchemy recipe and are given to Animal Familiars to increase your relationship.

Finally, Obol Points are like frequent shopper rewards from Charon. They allow you to get Reagents and other items from Charon's Stash, a chest located near the Wretched Broker after obtaining your first Obol Point. Obol Points are a great way to collect more Reagents, Greeneries, and Indulgences in Hades 2.
