Titus' Real-Life Son Plays Harry Bosch In A Flashback Sequence

Eamonn Lorcan Charles Welliver appears in Bosch: Legacy season 1, episode 8 "Bloodline", as a younger version of Bosch. In a flashback, a young Bosch, just starting out as an LAPD detective, is shown meeting his estranged father, J. Michael Haller Sr. (Clint Jordan), and his younger half-brother J. Michael "Mickey" Haller Jr. (Ettore James Baccari). Eamonn is, of course, a dead ringer for his father, and thus makes the flashback feel as real as it could from a visual standpoint.

More importantly, Eamonn effectively mimics his father's facial position, jutting his jaw out when he's angry and dipping his head back and forth, just like the older Bosch does. Titus has praised his son for his work, telling Looper,

"...I thought Eamonn really ... made it his own, but he really kept to the integrity of who Harry was, and we really see that the adult that Harry is. The character that we've seen for all these seasons, we get a glimpse into [the fact] that he's always been this guy with the same intensity and attitude about right and wrong."

Eamonn indeed does an excellent job inhabiting the character while not making an SNL-style parody of his father. When asked if he gave his son any advice on set, Titus responded,

"I was not on the set when he shot, in fact. I was not there that day, but he was in the very capable hands of the director, Ernest Dickerson, who had also shot the other scenes with my son, Quinn. He's watched the show over the years, and he's an observant actor, and he cherrypicked nuance and things that he thought were important to keep that line clear. I was very proud of him and look forward to seeing him coming back for some more flashbacks."

While Eamonn did not appear in season 2, Bosch: Legacy season 3 is confirmed and Titus could get his wish with more flashbacks.

Eamonn Lorcan Charles Welliver is not Titus' only child to appear in Bosch. Eamonn's younger brother Quinn also plays Bosch, though at a much younger age. He appears in two episodes in season 1 and one episode each in seasons 2 and 3. Quinn also looks just like his father and is an effective stand-in as the adolescent Bosch. Welliver's daughter Cora has appeared in both Bosch and Bosch: Legacy.

In Bosch, she appears as a minor character named Cora in season 1, episode 10. In Bosch: Legacy, she appears as a minor recurring character, Sam the dog walker, in season 1, episode 4; and season 2, episodes 2 and 9. All three of the Welliver siblings have the natural acting talent of their father and hopefully, there will be more of them in Bosch: Legacy and beyond.
