Hades 2: How To Unlock The Hot Spring (& Romance Characters)

After countless runs throughout the Underworld in an attempt to defy the Titan of Time, nothing helps the protagonist of Hades 2 unwind like a hot spring. The hot spring is an incantation that Melinoe can unlock like any other to renovate the Crossroads. Perhaps most importantly, the heated pool can also help players woo a potential romantic partner.

The cauldron found in the Crossroads, beside Melinoe’s Witch mentor, Headmistress Hecate, is the source for all Incantations. These spells can vastly change the game by adding new, essential gameplay mechanics and additions that players may have otherwise missed. From the Fated List of Prophecies to a hot tub, there’s always something worth unlocking in the Incantation menu. Although not the most plot-essential Incantation, the hot spring works very well for anyone wanting to earn a specific character's reputation.

How To Get The Hot Spring In Hades 2

Perform An Incantation

To unlock the hot spring in Hades 2, you need to perform the Rite of Vapor-Cleansing Incantation. This unlocks the ability to gift bath salts, which is an item that invites other Crossroads residents to visit the hot springs with Melinoe. You can’t just gift anyone bath salts, as first, you need to build up a base level of reputation by gifting your potential romantic partner Nectar. Once you have established a relationship, they will be more willing to join you in the hot spring.

The ingredients needed for the Rite of Vapor-Cleansing aren’t too hard to find but are spread out. Hades 2's Moly is found in Erebus, while Lotus is exclusively found in Oceanus, where you fight Scylla and the Sirens. To get Nightshade, you first need to unlock the Flourishing Soil Incantation. This will give you your first Nightshade Seed, which can be planted in Odysseus' seedbed. For any future Nightshade Seeds, you must get lucky and bring your Silver Spade on future runs.

Who Can You Romance In Hades 2?

Every Romanceable Character

Hades 2 has a deep well of romanceable characters in the game. You can romance Hecate, Odysseus, Nemesis, Dora, Moros, and Eris. Since Hades 2 is still in early access, more options may become available as we progress down the game’s roadmap. You can start a romance by gifting these characters Nectar. Although you can gift anyone, including the Gods and Goddesses, Nectar, romance options have special dialog when gifted enough times.

If you’re targeting one romance option, look into getting the Empath’s Intuition Incantation, as it helps track reputation progress.

Aside from gifting Nectar in Hades 2, plenty of Incantations can give Melinoe one-on-one time with her potential beloved. The Rite of Vapor-Cleansing and the Rite of River-Fording allow you to build your relationship while preserving the all-important Nectar to unlock more Keepsakes.
