While Cobra Kai season 6 will mark the end of the series, the Netflix martial arts drama is looking to go out with a bang.

At Netflix is a Joke Fest, the streamer finally gave some major updates on Cobra Kai season 6, which is getting a 15-episode order, as Netflix debuted a brand-new trailer for a three-part event.

Following the ending of Cobra Kai season 5, the final season is eying its biggest arc yet. Cobra Kai season 6 - part 1 will be released on July 18, followed by part 2 on November 28, setting up the third and final part sometime in 2025, with the specific date getting revealed at a later time. The trailer features the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang students training to go up against the return of John Kreese and Cobra Kai. There are also flashes of fights between the rival students that take place outside of a tournament setting.

Picking up with Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley, our senseis and students must decide if and how they will compete in the Sekai Taikai — the world championships of karate.

Since Cobra Kai began its run on YouTube Red before migrating over to Netflix, they have always had a 10-episode order commitment. However, with Cobra Kai season 6 upping it to 15 and splitting it into three parts, it demonstrates Netflix wanting to make sure the creative team has the proper time to wrap up the series. Even though Netflix has been doing parts 1-2 for a lot of their popular programming, like Stranger Things, Cobra Kai receiving a bigger treatment for its final season perfectly aligns with the future of the franchise.
