Genshin Impact 4.7 Leaks: Clorinde's 5-Star Weapon Is Already A Mistake

Genshin Impact 4.7 Leaks: Clorinde's 5-Star Weapon Is Already A Mistake

Summary Clorinde's rumored 5-star weapon in Genshin Impact may boost general DPS capabilities through CRIT DMG buffs.

Clorinde's signature sword, allegedly called Absolution, may have aesthetic issues when Ascended past its second threshold.

Despite the visual issues, Absolution's rumored stats are tailored to Clorinde's needs and may even serve other DPS units.

Clorinde’s rumored 5-star weapon in Genshin Impact has been mentioned in multiple Version 4.7 leaks now and, based on that information, it seems like the sword already has a big problem. Clorinde is a new playable character coming in the next patch for the popular action RPG developed by HoYoverse. Along with Sigewinne and Sethos, Clorinde is one of the three confirmed Genshin Impact 4.7 characters, though a lot is still unknown about her through official sources. Other than the fact that she wields an Electro Vision, HoYoverse has not revealed many other details about her, including her ranking.

The developer has not mentioned she is going to be a 5-star character, though leaks have already brought forth this information – the same leaks say Sigewinne will be a 5-star unit and Sethos will be a 4-star character. Clorinde’s weapon type has not officially been unveiled either, though her usage of a sword in cutscenes and the indication of her wielding one in her key art has all but confirmed it. Clorinde’s leaked kit in Genshin Impact 4.7 has mentioned the usage of a sword and now her rumored 5-star weapon has been leaked, too, but there’s a problem.

Clorinde’s Signature Weapon In Genshin Impact Is Rumored To Be Called Absolution

5-Star Sword Boosts DPS Capabilities

A few details about Clorinde’s rumored 5-star signature weapon have arisen through leaked information that was later shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit. According to the information sheet, Clorinde’s signature sword is called Absolution and it resembles a rapier with an adorned protective hilt. The sword will allegedly be made for DPS units, boasting a CRIT DMG sub-stat and its weapon skill increasing that very stat even more. The skill is also said to increase the user’s DMG for a while when their Bond of Life increases, matching Clorinde’s leaked kit and her self-application of that debuff.

The leaked description mentions that the user gains a DMG bonus when Bond of Life increases in Genshin Impact, though it does not specify that the equipping character themselves have to see that increase occur.

Main Problem With Clorinde’s Signature Sword In Genshin Impact Is Aesthetic

Weapon’s Second Ascension Visuals Are Not Too Pleasing

Aside from the early gameplay information, there has been another leak regarding the weapon’s design. Information obtained by GuraLeaks then shared on a post also tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, showcases how the weapon looks after its second Ascension process is complete. According to the leak, Clorinde’s weapon starts with a navy blue and white color palette with a few golden elements to it. When it completes its second Ascension, the sword allegedly trades off a lot of its navy blue elements for gold, making a fairly dark sword very bright. This is not pleasing Genshin Impact players.

As seen in multiple replies to the Reddit post, a lot of users complain about the leaked weapon’s looks after the second Ascension. Many say that they prefer Absolution in its original form rather than with its leaked bright coloring. Some users mention the desire for an in-game toggling option that would allow them to swap the design to their preferred one, not entirely discarding the newly colored version, but having the ability to use the darker version without any stat sacrifices. If the weapon is not Ascended, players cannot unlock Absolution’s full potential and stat increases in Genshin Impact.

The main problem with the leaked weapon’s design is that the Ascended version of the sword does not really match Clorinde’s darker color palette. The rumored base form of Absolution does match Clorinde, boasting a dark blue body that reflects the character’s own design. By equipping such a weapon, it is easy to imagine that the sword does, indeed, belong to her. When the weapon is Ascended and allegedly gains the brighter, white and golden palette, it clashes with Clorinde’s design, and it is easy to imagine a sword that does not look like her signature weapon in Genshin Impact.

Even If Visually Awkward, Clorinde’s Sword In Genshin Impact Will Likely Be Worth It

Absolution’s Rumored Stats Fit Clorinde’s Leaked Kit

Close

In spite of how visually awkward the color palette may be in relation to Clorinde herself, based solely on the reports provided by the leaks, it does seem like Absolution will be a worthwhile weapon to have for the character. The rumored CRIT DMG buffs provided by the sword will probably fit Clorinde’s kit marvelously, as she is rumored to be a main DPS in team comps. As such, she should carry the bulk of the damage output, and having CRIT DMG topped off is incredibly important – in fact, it may even help with Clorinde’s build in Genshin Impact.

“Absolution was tailor-made for Clorinde’s needs in Genshin Impact.”

Having a weapon provide a great amount of CRIT DMG allows players to focus on CRIT Rate when farming Artifacts for a DPS character, so it not only would match Clorinde’s kit but also make it easier for players to optimize her as a damage dealer. Additionally, the aforementioned leaks about Clorinde’s kit state that she has a Bond of Life mechanic to increase her own damage output. According to the leaks, Clorinde constantly applies the debuff to herself and, in comparison to Arlecchino’s build in Genshin Impact, Clorinde needs to maintain her Bond of Life very high.

Several of Clorinde’s skills require her Bond of Life to be above 100% of her Max HP in order to operate at full gauge.

If Clorinde’s signature sword does, in fact, temporarily increase the user’s damage output whenever there is an increase to the Bond of Life percentage, then it will work perfectly for Clorinde, as she is consistently increasing that debuff. The CRIT bonuses alone seem incredible for her, but the extra DMG shows why it is her signature sword – Absolution was tailor-made for Clorinde’s needs in Genshin Impact.

From an initial standpoint, it may seem like the rumored Absolution sword may not serve other sword DPS units, but it actually may. The CRIT DMG buffs are quite significant and, alone, can justify Absolution's usage on any sword character. In addition to that, the leaks do not mention that the Bond of Life increase needs to occur on the equipping character.

This could mean that, as long as there is a team member who can see that debuff applied, the character equipping Absolution could benefit from the damage bonus. Curiously, Sigewinne’s leaked kit in Genshin Impact does state that she can create Bond of Life, meaning that the rumored healer can be what triggers Absolution’s damage increase in a team comp.

Of course, a lot is still subject to change before the arrival of Version 4.7 and, ultimately, leaks may simply be incorrect, so it is best to consider the information with caution. Nevertheless, Clorinde’s signature weapon, for now, seems like a fantastic choice, even if the design choice behind its second Ascension form is highly questionable. More concrete information should be provided near the release of Genshin Impact 4.7, during the respective livestream that will likely occur in late May.
