10 Yuji and Nobara Run Circles Around the Cursed Wombs
Two Fledging Sorcerers Aren't to Be Underestimated
To start the list is the time Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki were up against the Cursed Womb: Death Paintings, Eso and Kechizu. These special grade curse hybrids would give many sorcerers a tough time, much less first year sorcerers like Yuji and Nobara. So what did these plucky protagonists do against their monstrously strong foes?
Absolutely destroy them. This dynamic duo practically ran circles around their foes, showing exactly why they were up to be promoted to Grade 1 Sorcerers in their first year of training. The moment in particular that earned them a place on the list is the final moment where the two trade off their opponents, doubling back to finish them off and save the day. It cements the team of Yuji and Nobara to be one to look out for.
9 Mechamaru Unleashes His Secret Weapon on Mahito
Mahito Is Forced to Face an Enemy Far Bigger than He Thought
Close
Mechamaru is a fascinating sorcerer in the series. Burdened with a far weaker body than an average person, he is granted immense cursed energy in its place. However, his desire to see Miwa and his other friends in the flesh is what makes him become a mole for the Disaster Curses, doing so in exchange for Mahito using his Idle Transfiguration to give him a body that he can live normally with.
But once Mahito does this, the Binding Vow that kept the two from killing one another is fulfilled, and they immediately launch into combat. Mahito thinks it's an easy fight at first, until Mechamaru reveals his secret weapon - a giant, cursed energy empowered mecha suit! The scene where it rises up from the lake is one of the most badass displays in Jujutsu Kaisen, showing that Mechamaru is not going down without a fight.
8 Yuji and Todo Team Up to Devastate Hanami
Brotherhood Destroys the Earth-borne Curse
Hanami is one of the all-powerful Disaster Curses, coalesced beings of humanity's fear of the various elements. A tough fight for any sorcerer to get into - but unfortunately for Hanami, it then has to face off against a freshly trained Yuji and the incredibly competent Aoi Todo. While Todo stays back at first, once Yuji pulls off a Black Flash, Todo is quick to hop into battle, using his technique 'Boogie Woogie' to its full effect.
A battle which shows how Yuji's new skills and Todo's cursed technique work in tandem, the two seem like brothers in arms as they swap back and forth in a stunning display of power. Not only does it sell how powerful and competent Yuji could be, but how having a good teammate like Todo can turn the tides of battle, along with how fast the Grade 1 Sorcerer can work things out. Countering the curse with ease, it's easily a moment that sells how badass these characters can be.
7 Megumi Unlocks His Domain Against a Finger Bearer
The Full Power of the Ten Shadows Technique Revealed
Megumi Fushigoro doesn't get a lot of time to shine in Jujutsu Kaisen, but when he does it's amazing. One his best moments comes as he's confronted by a Special grade curse that has consumed one of Sukuna's fingers to become even more powerful. The boy is outclassed at first, but it's then he pulls off something his peers hadn't yet achieved: a domain expansion.
The Chimera Shadow Garden domain expansion expands Megumi's shadow, allowing him to engulf his opponents in an area where his shikigami rule supreme. It's not a complete domain expansion, having no 'guaranteed hit' effect or barrier, but it doesn't matter. The Finger Bearer is no match for this competent sorcerer once he breaks it out. Megumi shows off why he's among those to be promoted to a Grade 1 Sorcerer here, as he forces his once-stronger opponent to play by his rules.

But when he and Toji meet again, it becomes clear that Gojo has entered a league of his own.
Renewed with new power, Gojo doesn't hesitate to show it off for all it's worth. Toji's immensely powerful body gives him a fighting chance at first, but once Gojo takes things slightly seriously, it's practically over. Gojo uses the Hollow Purple technique to blow a hole right through Toji, obliterating the assassin leader of the Zen'in with ease in a moment of total badassery.

However, Sukuna hops in at the last moment, both to save Megumi and to stop the almighty Mahoraga. With no regard for his surroundings, Sukuna proceeds to play with a foe he finds fascinating.
Exchanging blows back and forth, it's not until Sukuna pulls out his own domain expansion, Malevolent Shrine, where the battle becomes absolutely badass. In a scene of massive destruction, he uses his cleave and dismantle techniques to raze Shibuya before obliterating Mahoraga with a single incinerating blow. It both cements Sukuna as a sorcerer who will do anything to achieve victory as well as making it clear he is truly a terrifying opponent.

Maki Gets Her Moment of Vengeance
Maki had always been a powerful sorcerer, though lacking in cursed energy. Its then she gets her cathartic vengeance against the masses of the Zen'in, and their new leader of Naoya Zen'in, her old bully.
In a cathartic set of chapters, Maki asserts herself as the new inheritor of Toji's Heavenly Restriction. Taking them down in a number of scenes that show her vastly improved physical prowess, Maki gets her revenge on the family that made her life miserable, assisted by Mai's final creation in a powerful katana. It's a short arc that reestablishes Maki as the badass she always was.
2 Gojo Takes On Sukuna and His Shikigami Three vs. One
The Strongest Sorcerer of Today Lives Up to His Name
In the final battle against Sukuna, the monstrously powerful sorcerer had stolen and subjugated Megumi's body, giving him access to the Ten Shadows and the Shikigami that come with it. This includes Mahoraga, whose adaption ability poses a great threat to a freshly freed Gojo. Sukuna ups the ante further when he combines several shikigami into the chimera beast Agito, forcing the six eyes wielding sorcerer into fighting a three on one.
But Gojo keeps up the pace and keeps fighting on, even if he is slightly outclassed. In a moment of badassery that few will forget, he overcomes Agito, and keeps up the pace to destroy Mahoraga too. Only a sorcerer like Gojo could turn a three against one with that sort of odds into a one on one again, even if the outcome of the battle doesn't go in his favor in the end.
