Last Epoch: How To Empower Monoliths of Fate

The Monoliths of Fate are one of the best ways to find great end-game loot in Last Epoch, where players are eventually challenged with three level 90 areas to conquer: Spirits of Fire, The Last Ruin, and The Age of Winter. Many players may find themselves at a plateau with the power level of what they acquire from conquering each of these Monoliths, but there is a way to empower them for even greater loot. Empowered Monoliths provide a far greater challenge with higher risk but higher reward.

Before empowering them, players must first find and defeat the level 90 Monoliths of Fate bosses which are a core end-game feature after completing Last Epoch's main campaign. This will require characters to be leveled up as much as possible and equipped with great gear since the final three Monoliths are level 90 with scaling levels of Corruption. These alone are a challenging task, but beating them will grant access to the Legendary-leveled Empowered Monoliths which have a minimum Corruption level of 100.

Conquer the Echoes and Stabilize the Timeline

As you explore Timelines in the end-game of Last Epoch, you'll come across objectives known as Echoes which are revealed after exploring specific maps. Completing Echo objectives, usually by defeating certain enemies, provides Timeline Stability. There are also bonus objectives that vary by map. Simply completing main objectives in lower-level Monoliths will grant you enough Timeline Stability and rewards to proceed forward.

It is recommended to also complete bonus objectives and defeat as many enemies as possible at higher Timeline levels for unique items and extra XP.

Travel further into the Timeline web to advance its Stability. Keep in mind that progress on the Timeline is measured by distance to the starting nodes, not simply how much you travel. Echo objectives become more challenging but provide greater rewards, including unique loot you won't find elsewhere.

Players eventually encounter Shades of Orobyss, which is a mini-boss found in certain Timeline nodes. Defeating Shades will reset Timelines which means you begin anew at where you started. This is a great way to farm certain types of loot based on the rewards outlined in the zone's description. Beating Shades in zones further away from starting crystals will increase Corruption for even better bonuses.

Get Blessings to Counter Corruption

Beating Timeline bosses grants you blessings to buff your character's damage, defense, and other properties which are a huge benefit to overcome Monoliths of Fate. It's recommended to equip powerful loot for these encounters, such as the Omnis Amulet. Eventually, you'll be presented with more blessing options when beating bosses with higher levels of Corruption.

Beating all three level 90 Timeline levels and their bosses will unlock an island with a chest in the center of the Timeline. Interacting with the chest will finally grant access to Legendary levels of Timelines, also known as Empowered Monoliths. These have a base level of 100, and Corruption can scale to even higher levels. This will be a great challenge to overcome, but provides some of the best unique items Last Epoch can offer.
