Susan Noles came to the defense of her fellow contestants from The Golden Bachelor after a fan called them out. Susan is living her best life since competing for Gerry Turner's heart in The Golden Bachelor season 1. She was named one of QVC's Quintessential 50, she took to the runway during New York Fashion Week, and she even officiated Gerry and Theresa Nist's Golden Wedding. Unfortunately, her perfect record was broken when Gerry and Theresa announced in April that they were divorcing after being married for only three months.

Reality show contestants always come under fire for all sorts of things, and The Golden Bachelor women are no different. Susan recently posted some photos showing the progress being made to her backyard makeover, but a fan in the comments section had a different topic in mind, and Susan was forced to defend herself and her fellow Golden Bachelor contestants.
In the comments section of Susan's recent Instagram post, Leeannettefortier said, "I have seen very few of you congratulating Joan…????Not a good look." Other social media followers replied to say that the fan was really rude for leaving that comment. However, Susan decided to address the accusation and acknowledge that she had congratulated Joan on becoming the first Golden Bachelorette lead. She said, "I do almost daily and I was with her when she found out." Susan went on to say that "not everything goes on social media, but as a matter [of] fact, I did post, so just saying."

Susan was one of the Golden Bachelor women being talked about as a possible choice to lead The Golden Bachelorette season 1. ABC ended up choosing Joan, whose name was announced on May 14 after months of speculation. Joan is getting a second chance to find love on TV after she quit The Golden Bachelor partway through the season, which she did to be with her daughter, who was dealing with some postpartum issues. That made it clear how much she values family over everything else, a characteristic that she will most likely bring with her to The Golden Bachelorette.

Joan wasn't the only name being considered for The Golden Bachelorette. Susan and Leslie Fhima were other fan-favorites that appeared to be strong contenders for the role. Despite being sent home in week 5, Susan clearly built up a solid professional relationship with ABC because she came back to officiate Gerry and Theresa's live TV wedding and was a guest at the recent ABC Upfronts. She also launched a podcast with Kathy Swarts called Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour with Kathy & Susan. She would have been a great pick to be the Golden Bachelorette star.

ABC had several great options to star on The Golden Bachelorette, and Joan ended up being hired. Even though fans haven't seen her in the role, Joan has already proven she'll be a great lead, especially after revealing that she might not get engaged at the end of her season; she doesn't want to box herself in to an engagement that may or may not work out. Her recent comments pretty much confirm she probably won't get married on live TV, even if she does get engaged. She's already got a leg up on The Golden Bachelor's Gerry and Theresa.
The Golden Bachelorette premieres in fall 2024 on ABC.
