Batman Finally Gets Called Out For His Most Iconic Pose
Summary In Power Girl #8, the hero takes a hilarious jab at Batman's famous "gargoyle pose," while questioning the effectiveness of his patrolling methods.
As Power Girl notes, she is "way faster than Batman," meaning that however effective he may be at keeping Gotham safe, she feels she can do better.
Even without her Kryptonian powers, Power Girl has displayed keen detective skills, and strong hand-to-hand combat abilities, meaning she could indeed be a match for the Caped Crusader even before factoring in her superhuman strength.
Warning: Spoilers for Power Girl #8!One member of the Superman Family just roasted Batman for his infamous "gargoyle pose." Batman is practically a member Superman Family by association at this point, given his close friendship with Superman, and how they understand each other like family. Still, that doesn't mean that family members can't be critical of each other from time to time – as Power Girl made very clear.
Power Girl #8 – by Leah Williams and Eduardo Pansica – finds the hero levying some criticisms against Batman for his approach to guarding Gotham On the subject of patrolling cities, Power Girl ponders how Batman gets any patrolling done from atop a gargoyle statue, while also making it a point to mention that she's "way faster" than Batman.
For two characters who seldom have interactions in the DC Universe, this small moment reminds readers that, with or without powers, an argument can be made that Power Girl has better detective skills than Batman.

[Power Girl] reflects on Batman's approach to patrolling, wondering whether it isn't anything more than "just find a high vantage point and perch like a gargoyle until he hears screams,"
Power Girl #8 marks another exciting chapter in the ongoing "House of Brainiac" storyline, in which the classic Superman villain invades Metropolis, with intentions to capture every super-powered individual and metahuman he can find. Especially curious is that Brainiac opted to kidnap Power Girl's seemingly mild-mannered, albeit alleged super-spy, love interest, though DC has yet to reveal exactly why. In the latest issue, the hero reconvenes with the rest of the Superman Family to decide the best approach to protect the city from Brainiac's drones – and throws a jab at Batman in the process.
During the planning process, Power Girl contemplates how to patrol the entire city, something she is not used to doing on her own. She reflects on Batman's approach to patrolling, wondering whether it isn't anything more than "just find a high vantage point and perch like a gargoyle until he hears screams," which sounds more like standing and waiting than actually patrolling. However, because she's much faster than Batman, she has no problem finding trouble afoot in the area that she opts to keep an eye on, her local A-Town.

Some readers may think it's an obvious statement to say that Power Girl is more efficient at her job than Batman. After all, she's faster and has powers, whereas he doesn't, but powers have nothing to do with efficiency. As established in this series, Power Girl has skills beyond her powers, including using her intellect for detective work alongside Supergirl, and actual combat training that came in handy while she was powerless in Ferimbia. In a way, intuitive detective skills are an inherit Superman Family trait. Power Girl uses hers to ensure A-Town's safety, and manages to be both faster and more efficient than Batman while doing it.
