How To Get Deathcaps In Hades 2

Deathcaps are mushroom reagents in Hades 2 that are found throughout Erebus, the first layer of the Underworld. Unlike silver, limestone, and other materials, you do not need any harvesting tools to receive Deathcaps. Once you are finished with your encounter, look out for any large, purple mushrooms near the edges of the room. Simply walk over to the greenery and press the corresponding button to place the Deathcap in your inventory.

You can also find Hades 2 Cinders, one of the rarest reagents in Hades 2, in Erebus, but you need to defeat one specific foe in this region to receive the resource.

It is essential to note that Deathcaps only appear whenever it is raining in Erebus. There are only two weather patterns in this first zone: dry and rainy. The weather for each run is seemingly randomized, so there is no telling when you’ll get your next chance to farm this useful reagent.

What Are Deathcaps Used For In Hades 2

Deathcaps have two main purposes in Hades 2. First, the mushroom is used for various Incantations at the Crossroads. Melinoe can perform Incantations by visiting the cauldron at the center of the safe zone, usually where her Witch ally Headmistress Hecate resides. Incantations can unlock a variety of core gameplay functions. These Incantations can unlock merchants, new characters, or even bounty boards such as the Fated List of Minor Prophecies.

The Mercantile Fortune Incantation is the first Incantation that you should purchase at the cauldron, so you can make use of your Deathcaps and Bones as soon as possible.

Deathcaps are also used to trade with the Wretched Broker. The Wretched Broker is a Shade vendor that can be summoned after performing the Mercantile Fortune Incantation, which only costs 10 bones.
