Magneto's Resurrection Was A Turning Point For Mutantkind

He Returns As A Protector

FALL OF THE HOUSE OF X #5 (2024) Release Date: 05/22/24 Writers: Gerry Duggan Artists: Lucas Werneck Cover Artist: Pepe Larraz Variant Covers: CARLOS GOMEZ, AKA, NICK BRADSHAW, PEPE LARRAZ It all comes down to this – Orchis versus the X-Men, winner take the future! Orchis has pushed mutantkind to their lowest point ever, but that just means the X-Men have had to fight back like never before. Will it be enough? We continue to barrel toward the conclusion of the Krakoan Age as the two stories that are one come to an end!

With Magneto and Polaris working side-by-side, the two Masters of Magnetism could be unstoppable –especially if they have Mysterium at their disposal.

Mutantkind has never known a protector as fierce as Magneto. He has always been willing to lay down his life to protect them, just as he was willing to leave death behind to return to them again. Since his return, he has grappled with heavy questions about himself and the sort of man that he is, having lived so much of his life split between a celebrated hero and a feared villain. As Nimrod and the AI bear down on mutants across the globe, the answer is becoming increasingly clear. Magneto is at once a savior and a formidable enemy.

Magneto The oldest and best-known adversary of the X-Men, Magneto has been a part of Marvel Comics since the mutant team was introduced. Bearing powers over magnetic fields, he views mutants as superior to normal humans, and aims to build a world where humans are dominant. The only thing stopping him is Professor X and his team of heroes.

Little time has passed since Max's resurrection. His only opportunity to face Nimrod came at Iron Man's side, where he discovered his affinity for the powerful metal, Mysterium, and used it to completely crush one of Nimrod's bodies. It's an astonishing feat, given how hyper-resistant the Sentinel has proven to other attacks, and the preview proves that he is finally joining the real war. Emma Frost, Wolverine, Storm, and others are coming in highly prepared, but with Magneto and Polaris working side-by-side, the two Masters of Magnetism could be unstoppable –especially if they have Mysterium at their disposal.

Magneto is in his prime and is operating with a singular purpose: defeat Orchis and save mutantkind.

Now he has somewhere to direct that energy, and he won't be doing it alone. With Magneto's return, the X-Men are ready to face Orchis, win, and start the next chapter for mutants everywhere.
