New PS Plus Leak Points To One Of PS3's Best Games Arriving In June 2024

Summary Red Dead Redemption may soon be available on PlayStation Plus, making fans nostalgic for the beloved PS3 game excited.

A leak from user Timtendo12 suggests the classic Rockstar game could be coming to the subscription service in June 2024.

Rumors swirl about a remastered version of Red Dead Redemption, with hopes it will also be available on PC in the future.

It's looking more and more likely that one of the most beloved PlayStation 3 games is headed to PlayStation Plus in the very near future as a new leak suggests a classic Rockstar game is coming to the subscription service. While Sony is usually very prompt when it comes to providing updates on the titles coming and going from its platform, the community dedicated to unearthing announcements before they're officially made will always be eager to explore any rabbit holes they may uncover. If this latest report is correct, it's great news for those nostalgic for the PS3.

Discovered and posted to Reddit by user Timtendo12, a string on the Red Dead Redemption site suggests that the classic 2010 open-world game is coming to PlayStation Plus in June 2024.

Specifically, it will be available as a part of PlayStation Plus Premium and the list of platforms upon which it's already available, like PS4 and Nintendo Switch, has the community speculating that the leak may be accurate. Rockstar has yet to officially confirm whether the rumor is accurate but this isn't the first time reports have claimed John Marston would make a return on modern hardware.

Gearing Up To Return To Red Dead

The latest finding from Timtendo12 is by no means the only report alleging that the original Red Dead Redemption is coming to the current console generation. Rumors abound that a remastered version could be in the works especially given that it's already included as a part of GTA+, Rockstar's own subscription service dedicated to its catalog of games. The version available via GTA+ is only for Xbox and PlayStation players, so the community is still holding out hope that the classic Wild West action-adventure game will also make its way to PC soon.

The original Red Dead Redemption is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made, raking in over 170 Game of the Year awards when it was released in 2010. The game chronicles the story of John Marston as he embarks upon a quest to kill the members of the outlaw gang with whom he used to run. Despite delivering an insightful and emotionally complicated story, RDR also received a campy expansion by way of Undead Nightmare which tasked players with surviving a zombie outbreak in the Old West.

Even if Red Dead Redemption doesn't end up dropping on PlayStation Plus, users looking for some cowboy action are in luck because the sequel, Red Dead Redemption II, is now available on the service. Set years before the first game, the narrative follows that same group of outlaws but this time players assume the role of Arthur Morgan, a conflicted member who wants to stick by his group but also knows that times are changing rapidly. Aside from that, subscribers can also pick up Crime Boss: Rockay City and Decieve Inc. among some other hits.
