Janelle posted a photo of a baked Strawberry Rhubarb pie she'd made for Mother's Day, as she stated, "All weekend I felt the grief so close to the surface." In the caption, Janelle expressed how Mother's Day has never been a big holiday for her because her kids always show up for her every day. However, this Mother's Day proved difficult as she dealt with the missing presence of Garrison, who passed away in March from suicide.

In a post acknowledging Mother's Day, Janelle shared how she honored Garrison by baking his favorite, a strawberry rhubarb pie. In her social media post, she expressed the ongoing grief she experiences daily and how baking the pie was a significant moment in her mourning process. She conveyed her emotions by stating, "Strawberry Rhubarb is a huge favorite at our house and maybe no one loved it more than Garrison. And that made this pie a little bittersweet." She continued, stating that she loves and misses him, making this a Mother's Day tribute in honor of Garrison.

After the unfortunate passing of Garrison, members of the entire Brown family came together to pay tribute to his memory. Christine Brown paid tribute to Garrison after his passing by planting a Sedona Midnight tree in his honor. The beautiful tribute also included planter boxes inspired by planter boxes that Garrison had once built for his younger sister Truely Brown, daughter of Christine and Kody.

Aside from this beautiful tribute, Garrison's siblings have also been paying tribute to him through social media by showing throwback photos and videos of him smiling and enjoying life. Although he's not physically in her presence, Janelle continues to share the light that Garrison embodied through her social media and tributes.
