Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Are Getting A Day-One Game On June 4

Summary Xbox Game Pass continues to offer great value with day-one releases and beloved classics in a variety of genres.

New addition Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends lets players run a sushi restaurant while forming relationships with townsfolk.

June 2024's line-up so far also includes horror puzzle game Firework on PC, a very contrasting title to Rolling Hills.

Yet another day-one game is coming to Xbox Game Pass soon. Currently, the subscription is considered one of the better deals in gaming, due to its regularly changing roster that includes beloved classics and day-one releases on the majority of its tiers, covering a wide variety of genres to appease most types of gamers. May has already seen several day-one releases on the subscription, such as the adorable cat simulator Little Kitty, Big City, the epic action-adventure title Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and the intergalactic hospital management title, Galacticare.

Announced in Xbox Wire's reveal of May 2024's second wave of titles, Catch & Release, LLC's Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends will be coming to Xbox consoles, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming as a day-one addition to the Game Pass subscription on June 4. The title will see players assume the role of a robot chef trying to run its own sushi restaurant in a cozy village.

Rolling Hills' Main Gameplay Revolves Around Obtaining New Recipes And Forming New Relationships

As is to be expected, a large portion of Rolling Hills' restaurant management gameplay involves making sushi, with players unlocking new recipes including the likes of California Rolls, Kappa Rolls and Fruit Rolls to suit the townfolks' different tastes. From here, players must also source the freshest ingredients from the local market to improve upon these recipes' flavor an quality to become the best sushi restaurant in town.

As the second part of Rolling Hills' subtitle would suggest, the other major part of its core gameplay revolves around forming new relationships and integrating with the town's residents. This can be done over a cup of coffee, or by exploring the area outside the restaurant and helping them with their day-to-day needs to make not only the state of sushi in the area better, but the lives of the townsfolk in general.

Only one other title has been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass' roster in June 2024 - the acclaimed 2021 horror puzzle game Firework on PC - but it already seems like a very diverse pairing, showing the range of titles available for subscribers. Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends looks like a promising start for the month and is certainly one to watch those who enjoy cozy indie titles, with an earlier version of the game having already been well received at the 2020 PAX East Showcase and the 2020 Wholesome Direct, according to the game's Steam page.
