Genshin Impact 4.7 Is Finally Getting A Highly Requested Update

Summary An Original Resin cap increase will occur in Genshin Impact 4.7, attending to a highly requested update.

The increased cap will allow players to farm resources more efficiently without long waiting times for the resource to regenerate.

Despite not addressing all farming issues in the game, the update alleviates some pressing concerns for players as more content is constantly added.

A long-awaited and highly requested update in Genshin Impact is finally coming true with the Version 4.7 update, expected to arrive in early June. Version 4.7 is the next big patch for the game and a few details about what players can expect have already been officially divulged by developer HoYoverse. One such piece of information is that Clorinde, Sigewinne, and Sethos will be the three new characters in the upcoming patch. Little has been officially revealed about them, but more will be showcased during the Genshin Impact 4.7 livestream.

Before the special event, however, HoYoverse went ahead and presented a few new updates to the game that will be added with the next patch. As seen in an official post by the developer on HoYoLAB, a series of system optimizations will arrive with Version 4.7, including the highly requested increase to the daily Resin cap. According to the Developers Discussion post, the Original Resin cap will be increased from 160 to 200. With this, players will have more energy to spare when running Domains and farming resources in Genshin Impact.

Resin Increase Cap In Genshin Impact Has Been Solicited For A Long Time

Original Resin Replenishes Automatically, But At A Contained Pace

The increase of the Original Resin cap in Version 4.7 comes as extremely good news, as the resource allows players to challenge Domains of various types and farm with more efficiency. They can have access to more than 200 Resin per day, but with the current 160 Resin cap, players need to wait for the resource to replenish, which can take a long time – for reference, one Resin is regenerated every eight minutes, so gathering enough to reap the rewards from a Ley Line Outcrop or Domain in Genshin Impact can take a while.

“The update to the Resin cap does alleviate some of the most pressing concerns and helps players gain more when they log in to gather resources.”

This confirmed increase will allow players to spend more of the Original Resin they are already entitled to without having to wait for the downtime while its meter recharges. As a consequence, they will be able to fulfill their daily farming activities more effectively and, possibly, even in a single run, without having to log in later to use the Original Resin they had to wait for. The game had already seen an increase in the cap before, but another one has been solicited by Genshin Impact players for a long time, as demonstrated in comments on the HoYoLAB post.

The increase to the daily Original Resin cap also makes sense from a content perspective. The game has expanded considerably since the cap’s last increase and not only are there multiple new activities to challenge, but playable characters. Each of these characters requires sets of Artifacts, Ascension materials, and Talent items, and a lot needs to be farmed, especially for players looking to optimize most of their acquired characters. With three new characters in Genshin Impact 4.7, this is further exemplified.

The update does not address some of the game’s issues with farming, such as the randomness in Artifact stats.

While it does not fix all the problems with farming, the update to the Resin cap does alleviate some of the most pressing concerns and helps players gain more when they log in to gather resources. The game has constantly been receiving system optimizations and this is another one, though a much-appreciated one due to how highly requested it was. Now, Genshin Impact is starting to gear up for the release of Natlan later this year.
