Honkai Star Rail 2.4 Leaks: New March 7th Form Isn't What Players Expected
Summary New leaked info about March 7th's form update hints at a gameplay shift with dual blades.
March 7th's rumored abilities suggest she may become a support unit in Honkai: Star Rail.
The leaked March 7th form seems to lack offensive abilities, hinting at a possible buffer or healer role.
New leaked information about the rumored March 7th form update in Honkai: Star Rail 2.4 has been shared and, if the news is to be believed, she may not be exactly what players were expecting when the first mentions of her alternate form arose. March 7th is one of the first characters players get to control, as she and Dan Heng rescue the Trailblazer in Herta Space Station after Kafka and Silver Wolf’s infiltration mission. The character has a secret past that has yet to unfold, but it may be accompanied by a total shift in her gameplay kit.
Rumors about a new March 7th form in Honkai: Star Rail started a few months back, with more concrete descriptive information being shared. At the moment, the character is a 4-star Ice unit who follows the Path of Preservation, thus operating as a shielder in team comps. This is rumored to change, however, as the leaks mention March 7th abandoning her classic bow and arrows and taking on dual blades for combat. This seems to give her a more aggressive stance in battle, but new leaked information about the rumored form is hinting at an unexpected type of gameplay.

New information obtained by the leaker known as Fyrefly Lover, which was then shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, issues early descriptions of March 7th’s rumored abilities. According to the leak, both her Technique and her Skill will provide some sort of buff, while her Talent should deal damage to opponents. It is also rumored the leaked March 7th form has an Enhanced Basic Attack. The leaker mentions that the information has yet to be confirmed, but that it is likely that March 7th in Honkai: Star Rail will not deal damage with her Skill or Ultimate.
The leak also cites that in the animations of her Skill and her Ultimate, some sort of drink, described as “Milk Tea,” is included.
March 7th’s New Rumored Form In Honkai: Star Rail May Be Another Support
Initial Dual Blades Leak May Have Been Misleading
From the leaked description of the abilities and the mention that neither her Skill nor her Ultimate deal damage to enemies, it is possible to presume that the leaked new March 7th form will be another support unit. While she is already a support as a shielder, she may shift into a buffer or a healer, following either the Path of the Harmony or the Path of the Abundance. Despite the mentions of an Enhanced Basic Attack and damage output via her Talent, it seems she lacks more offensive potential to be a DPS in Honkai: Star Rail.

The initial leaks about her wielding dual leaks may actually be correct, but the weapon’s often aggressive style in battle may have led to the assumption that March 7th would take on a more active role in dealing damage. This expectation may fall apart if the more recent leaks about March 7th’s new form providing buffs are true. Even if she wields dual blades, she may be a support unit. It is worth noting that weapons in Honkai: Star Rail are simply thematic and don’t always reflect their actual value.
“While it is likely March 7th will take on the role of a support, she may still be an important contributor to the team’s overall damage output.”
The support unit Bronya, for instance, carries a rifle but is ineffective as a DPS. Misha, on the other hand, wields a mop and is a fully dedicated damage dealer. As such, the combination of leaks about March 7th’s new form wielding dual blades and being a support unit do not sound too far-fetched. Another leak provided by Fyrefly Lover, which was also shared in a Reddit post, mentions that the animation for her Ultimate focuses on March 7th’s eyes, a leaf, a few moods, and her remembering something. For now, these Honkai: Star Rail leaks are still very vague.
Of course, while it is likely March 7th will take on the role of a support, she may still be an important contributor to the team’s overall damage output. As a possible buffer, she could enhance damage output. Not only that but by having an Enhanced Basic Attack, she herself can deal more damage to opponents. The rumors that March 7th can deal damage via her Talent are also positive and it hints at the possibility of yet another push toward a fan-favorite gameplay mechanic: follow-up attacks in Honkai: Star Rail.
Follow-up attacks are gaining even more traction with the release of Robin, who buffs this type of action, and there are rumors that Jade will also use this mechanic in Version 2.3. There are also rumors of new Relic and Ornament sets in Version 2.3 that boost the mechanic.
The game has yet to conclude Version 2.2 and go through Version 2.3 before arriving in the patch where March 7th’s new form is rumored to be added, so leaks should be taken with a grain of salt as they may be incorrect or subject to change. Nevertheless, the prospect of a new gameplay kit for one of the most consistently present characters in Honkai: Star Rail is good, even if she is not exactly what players may have expected initially.
