How To Get (& Use) Prime Meat In Fallout 76

In Fallout 76, the only way to acquire Prime Meat is through a seasonal event known as “Meat Week.” The event has run once or twice a year since its inception in 2019, making it a fairly limited-time offering. Moreover, players who take advantage of this event will receive a fair amount of good loot by utilizing their Prime Meat well.

Some of the best events in Fallout 76 allow players to fight aliens or summon a Wise Mothman. These events usually give good rewards and XP bonuses as well, making them more tempting to participate it. The Meat Week event allows players to help Grahm with some tasks as well as gain a fair amount of legendary loot.

The current Meat Week Event runs from May 21st, 2024 - June 4th, 2024. Last year, there was only 1 inception of this event during the year, but it may yet come back this year.

Getting Prime Meat in Fallout 76

Hunting Prime Targets

To obtain Prime Meat, players will have to participate in the seasonal public event known as “Primal Cuts,” which is part of the overall event “Meat Week.” To participate in Primal Cuts, players will have to find the region where it is occurring. Every fifteen minutes, three separate mini-events will take place in three different regions out of the six total regions in Appalachia in Fallout 76.

When players find the event, they need to bang on a drum around the center of the event location, which will be recognizable by the bait meat hanging off of it. This will then lure in enemies for the players to fight in the form of four separate waves of creatures.

The creatures that will come are heavily based on what region they are coming from, and will gradually increase from smaller creatures to a boss creature in Wave 4. This boss has a high chance to be legendary and will drop twice the amount of loot it normally does.

The event will end when the boss creature has been defeated, and you will get the rewards based on the region you are in. All six regions in Appalachia have an assigned difficulty level for this event, and your rewards will be based on which region you are in.

You will also receive an XP bonus, 20 bottle caps, and 2 Treasury Notes for completing the event.

Using Prime Meat in Grahm’s Meat-Cook Event

Donating Meat For The Cause

Close

This is another sub-event that is part of Meat Week, and it is located in The Forest, just northwest of the moonshiner’s shack. It begins by Grahm asking players for their help in running a massive cookout, and this means performing a number of tasks. Having multiple people will certainly help, as there are a fair number of tasks that have to get done to get the “Best” rating with the highest rewards.

The Meat-Cook Event happens at the top of every hour.

The full task list is as follows:

Continuously turn one of the three cooking spits

Continuously play the drums

Collect critter chunks

Collect greens

Donate five wood scraps

Donate Chally’s feed

Clean up

Extinguish the brush fires

Each of these tasks will contribute to a progress bar, and you will have to reach 100% to get the “Best” rewards. Not doing tasks like “Clean Up” and “Extinguish the brush fires” will negatively affect the progress bar. While Prime Meat is not a stated objective, this is the time to use Prime Meat if you have it.

To use it during the event, you can deposit your Prime Meat in 1 of 3 places:

1. Large cooking cauldron

2. The adjacent open grills

3. The spit-roasting yao guai in the center of the area

To deposit, or donate, your Prime Meat in one of these spots you must have a stack of 5, as it cannot be donated in any other fashion. They can also only be donated a total of 3 times per Meat-Cook, so you will have to wait for another one to unload your Prime Meat if you have more. It will help to fill the Progress Bar for the Event as a whole, but it has a couple of other effects as well.

Rewards For Using Prime Meat

Sweet, Sweet Meat Sweats

First of all, depositing the Prime Meat will be exchanged on a 1 for 1 ratio for Legendary scrip. This means for your stack of 5 Prime Meat you will receive 5 Legendary scrip. If you are able to donate all three stacks allowed, you will have received 15 Legendary scrip by the end of the event. These scrips can then be used to buy more Legendary items from Purveyor Murmrgh in Fallout 76, and it cannot be used for trading.

You cannot have more than 6000 scrip per player character or share it with a different character on the same account, so spend what you have!

Another benefit of the Prime Meat is the “Meat Sweats” effect that is a buff on the player who donates the Prime Meat. Each stack of meat contributes to the buff, increasing and adding to the buff with each level. The Strong Meat Sweats effect lasts long enough to stop you from donating more than three stacks per event or from cheating the system to join a separate event on another server.

The benefits are as follows:

# Of Stacks Effect Buffs Applied 1 Stack Mild Meat Sweats Taking damage may result in gaseous discharge

Hunger does not decay 2 Stacks Meat Sweats Taking damage may result in gaseous discharge

Hunger does not decay

+15 Maximum HP 3 Stacks Strong Meat Sweats Taking damage may result in gaseous discharge

Hunger does not decay

+30 maximum HP

+5% bonus XP

Additionally, you will receive rewards based on how well you performed in the Meat-Cook in addition to the effects of the Prime Meat in Fallout 76.
