RDR2: Every Dinosaur Bone Location (& Rewards)
One of the most exciting and unique collectibles in Red Dead Redemption 2 would have to be dinosaur bones, which perfectly encapsulate the growing scientific and public interest in dinosaurs during the game's era. Deborah MacGuiness is an old paleontologist searching for dinosaur bones in the region. Arthur can offer his services in finding these bones and giving their locations to a good paleontologist.
Dinosaur bones can be found in cliff walls, rock formations, or just sticking out of the ground. While you can find these bones before meeting MacGuiness, you can't do anything with them until that first meeting. Therefore, you'll want to meet MacGuiness and know what you're doing before you go hunting for dinosaurs.

How To Start The A Test of Faith Quest
Where To Find Deborah MacGuiness
Deborah MacGuiness is an elderly woman crouched in a crater in the Heartlands, carefully unearthing a new discovery. Ride south from the H in Heartlands and you'll eventually come across her. Her quest, 'A Test of Faith,' tasks Arthur with finding 30 dinosaur bones scattered throughout the map. When you speak with her after finding your first bone, you'll get a quartz chunk. You'll later get a Skull Statue after 15 bones and a Jaw Bone Knife at the quest's end.
Dinosaur Bone Locations In Cumberland Forest & The Heartlands
Close
The Heartlands acts as the home of the Van der Linde gang after leaving Colter. The region features the town of Valentine, one of the best towns in Red Dead Redemption 2, and features Deborah MacGuiness, making it the first region you'll explore for dinosaur bones. There are six dinosaur bones in the Heartlands, with two found not too far from MacGuiness. While exploring the Heartlands, make sure to stop by Cumberland Forest, the smallest region in the game with just two dinosaur bones to its name.

Dinosaur Bone Locations In Roanoke Ridge & Lemoyne
Roanoke Ridge and Lemoyne are less populated with dinosaur bones, likely due to the many major towns that populate the two regions. Lemoyne's two dinosaur bones are both located in the northwest corner of the region, not too far from one of the coolest Easter eggs in RDR2. Meanwhile, three dinosaur bones in Roanoke Ridge are located north of Elysian Pool. Due to the huge distance between them, you'll likely want to collect the bones in both regions at different times.

Dinosaur Bone Locations In Ambarino & West Elizabeth
Ambarino and West Elizabeth are huge regions, with Ambarino having the second-largest number of dinosaur bones hidden within. Most of Ambarino's five dinosaur bones can be found in the Grizzles East, with one only found in the Grizzlies West, not too far from Cumberland Forest. The three dinosaur bones in West Elizabeth are all north of Strawberry, making them fairly easy to collect when you first visit this region in RDR2.
If you want to complete as much of RDR2 as possible while playing Arthur Morgan, Ambarino and West Elizabeth are the last regions you'll be able to explore before the epilogue and the change in protagonists.

Dinosaur Bone Locations In New Austin
You won't be able to get to New Austin in RDR2 as Arthur due to an invisible sniper, but there are still a bunch of dinosaur bones you'll need to collect when you can get to this western region of the game. New Austin takes the cake with eight dinosaur bones left to finish this impressive collectible quest. There are two bones in each sub-region of New Austin: Gaptooth Ridge, Rio Bravo, Hennigan Stead, and Cholla Springs. Dive deep into this once-forbidden region, and you'll soon have all thirty dinosaur bones in Red Dead Redemption 2.
