Station 19 Star Coyly Teases A Potential Grey's Anatomy Return

Station 19 Star Coyly Teases A Potential Grey's Anatomy Return

Summary Jason George teases a possible return to Grey's Anatomy post-Station 19, hinting at more Ben-Bailey stories to tell.

George's potential comeback would offer closure for Ben's character arc and continue the beloved Benley dynamic onscreen.

Fans can anticipate a substantial storyline for Ben if he returns in Grey's Anatomy season 21, after sporadic appearances.

Jason George teases his return to Grey’s Anatomy after Station 19. George played Ben Warren on Grey’s Anatomy for a number of years, beginning in 2010 with the season 6 episode “State of Love and Trust.” After multiple career changes that eventually wound him up working as a firefighter, Ben also later appeared on the spinoff series Station 19, which George has acted on since the season premiere.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, George suggests he could appear on Grey’s Anatomy following the ending of Station 19. According to the actor, he believes that “there’s still a Ben-Bailey, or Benley, story to tell.” He went even further to say that “there may be conversations.” George did not concretely confirm that he would appear in Grey’s Anatomy. Check out the full quote from George below:

“I like to think that there’s still a Ben-Bailey, or Benley, story to tell. I think that’s a possibility. There may be conversations.”

Why Ben Coming Back to Grey’s Is Great News

George’s tease is exciting for a number of reasons. For one, it would keep the actor in the Grey’s universe in a tenure that would have otherwise ended. Station 19 is officially ending after season 7, with its final episode airing on Thursday, May 30. If he did not return to Grey’s Anatomy, Ben Warren would see the end of his character arc. The last appearance George had on Grey’s was in season 20, episode 6, which aired earlier in May, so his appearance was not guaranteed.

Not only would George’s reappearance in Grey’s Anatomy mean that it is not the end of the line for Ben, but it means the continuation of Benley on screen. Ben and his now wife Miranda Bailey are arguably the most beloved couple on Grey’s Anatomy. They have had a number of dramatic stories throughout their time as a couple, including going through miscarriage, adoption, and more, so a lot of their stories have been told. However, if George thinks there are more Ben-Bailey stories to be told, the audiences would certainly welcome it.

Hopefully, if George were to return in Grey’s Anatomy season 21, he would be given a substantial storyline. While he was a regular on Station 19, Ben’s appearance on Grey’s Anatomy has been more sporadic over recent years. Dr. Bailey’s role has been even more once-in-a-while on Station 19, in which she appears for only 25 episodes. As a result, it has been a while since fans have seen a more proper Benley storyline, so Grey’s Anatomy season 21 may be the perfect time to discover such a narrative again.
