How To Unlock (& Use) All Chaos Boons In Hades 2

In Hades 2, boons are gifts from the Gods and Goddesses of Olympus that empower Melinoe on her way to slay the Titan of Time, Chronos. The Gods are not Melinoe’s only source of boons, as she can also come across the mysterious Primordial Originator, Chaos. Boons from Chaos work much differently than your usual buffs, and it’s best to understand these mechanics before delving in.

Chaos’ goals are unclear, but she clearly has an interest in the affairs of Gods and Melinoe’s quest to slay Chronos. Her boons are incredibly powerful, more so than your average God or Goddess, but each boon first comes with a negative side effect to overcome. Both finding and accepting the Primordial Originator’s gifts are a massive challenge in Hades 2, but well worth it if you can withstand Chaos.

How To Unlock Chaos’ Boons In Hades 2

You can unlock Chaos’ secret boons in the Realm of Chaos in Hades 2. You likely won’t run into Chaos during your first few runs throughout the Underworld, but after you have defeated the Witch Headmistress Hecate, you are far more likely to find this hidden realm.

Once you have cleared a room, you have a chance to spawn a doorway to the Realm of Chaos. This is identified by an eerie eye symbol on the ground. To enter the Realm of Chaos, you need to sacrifice a portion of your health.

If you are too low health, do not enter the Realm of Chaos. The damage from entering this run could bring an unceremonious end to your night.

If you elect to sacrifice your health and enter into the shadowy portal, you can visit the Realm of Chaos and the Primordial Originator herself. You can speak with Chaos to see her selection of boons and unique dialog, but this is not your only option.

If you elect to give Chaos Nectar of the Gods, you will receive the Transcendent Embryo Keepsake, which grants Melinoe one random Chaos blessing per run. If you give her another, then you’ll receive Abyssal Insight, which unlocks the Chaos Trials.
