Stranger Things Season 5 Might Be Repeating The Best Character Trick From Season 2
Summary Robin & Will may form a new team-up, similar to Steve & Dustin, in Stranger Things season 5.
Both Robin & Will are outsiders, connecting them deeper.
Robin & Will joining forces makes sense, especially with Jonathan, Nancy, & Steve on another team.
Stranger Things season 5 will see the return of the whole Hawkins group for one final mission, and a recent tease reveals this season might be repeating season 2’s best character trick. Stranger Things is preparing for its fifth and final season, and it has a lot to cover to bring the series to a satisfying ending. Stranger Things has been packed with many twists and turns since season 1, as well as many shocking reveals that brought more problems for the Hawkins crew, who will have to team up one final time to, hopefully, defeat Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) for good.
At the end of Stranger Things season 4, Vecna’s plan was set into motion and the Upside Down started taking over Hawkins. In addition to that, Max’s (Sadie Sink) encounter with Vecna left her severely injured and in a coma, and it’s to be seen if she will be able to have a full recovery. The surviving members of the Hawkins crew will have to come up with a plan to defeat Vecna and close the gates to the Upside Down, and it will require dividing into teams again, and there might be one that will repeat season 2’s best trick.
Stranger Things Season 5 Teases A Robin & Will Team-Up
Robin & Will Can Be The New Steve & Dustin

A behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Stranger Things season 5 is teasing a new team-up that could be the new Steve/Dustin duo: Robin and Will.
Stranger Things has seen some amazing teams that have become fan favorites, such as season 3’s Scoops Troop (Dustin, Steve, Robin, and Erica) and season 4’s Russia team (Joyce, Murray, and Hopper). When it comes to pairs, none has surpassed the chemistry and popularity of Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), a surprise pair that came to be in Stranger Things season 2. Despite not interacting in season 1, Steve and Dustin ended up becoming best friends after fighting Dart together, and Steve not only shared his hair styling secret with him but also drove his new friend to the Snow Ball.
Now, a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Stranger Things season 5 is teasing a new team-up that could be the new Steve/Dustin duo: Robin (Maya Hawke) and Will (Noah Schnapp). The photo, shared on the broadcast channel of the official Stranger Things Instagram account, shows Robin and Will’s chairs next to each other, with a table in front with Bananagrams tiles forming (seemingly) random words. This sparked speculation about a possible Robin/Will team-up, despite these characters having barely interacted in previous seasons. Robin and Will might seem like an odd pair, but so did Steve and Dustin at first.
Why Robin & Will Teaming Up In Stranger Things Season 5 Makes Sense
Stranger Things Season 5 Will See New & Old Teams
Robin and Will have more in common than it might seem, as both are outsiders in different ways.
Robin and Will haven’t really gotten to know each other, though thanks to Steve and Nancy, Robin now knows all she needs to about Will, the Upside Down, and his experience with the Mind Flayer. It’s a similar situation to Steve and Dustin before they teamed up in season 2, but this unusual pair ended up forming one of the show’s strongest and most special bonds. Robin and Will have more in common than it might seem, as both are outsiders in different ways. Robin and Will are also the only LGBTQ+ characters in the main cast of Stranger Things, and they can be the support each other needs.
Robin and Will as a team in Stranger Things season 5 also makes sense given another team that has been teased for this season. A batch of behind-the-scenes photos shows Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Nancy (Natalia Dyer), and Steve together, hinting at them teaming up again, leaving Robin free to join other characters, such as Will. Stranger Things season 5 looks to have many surprises up its sleeve, and a Robin/Will pair would be an interesting one.
