Fallout 4 Player Discovers An Absurd Melee Weapon With An Impossible Perk
Summary Randomized weapons in Fallout 4 offer game-changing perks like +100% Critical Hit damage for a Laser Rifle.
User RadiationKnight76YT shared a rare find: a Never Ending Baton with unlimited ammo capacity, likely due to mods.
The unique combination of a Never Ending ability on a melee weapon like a Baton is an amusing error in Fallout 4.
Fallout 4 players are no strangers to discovering loot with some bizarre perks but one Sole Survivor may have just unearthed one of the most impossible weapons yet. In a series first, Fallout 4 included randomized weapons that afforded players the opportunity to grind quests in an effort to earn a drop with perfectly optimized stats and perks. These perks can be game-changing, often taking a firearm like the Laser Rifle and turning it into a powerhouse with the ability to deal +100% Critical Hit damage, so it's often best to keep an open mind when it comes to Legendaries.
Posted to Reddit by user RadiationKnight76YT, the Fallout 4 player shared an image of a weapon that seems almost impossible: A Baton that sports the Never Ending ability, meaning it has an unlimited ammo capacity.
Obviously, a melee weapon does not require ammunition as the only determining factor as to how often it can be swung is the Sole Survivor's stamina. It's certainly a hilarious error that's granted the humble Baton an ability that, in any weapon that actually uses ammo, would be instantly desirable.

Mods Make Fallout 4 Do Some Strange Things
While the community enjoyed the impossible nature of a Never Ending Baton, many were quick to point out that an error caused by mods likely generated the weapon. In the vanilla version of Fallout 4, the Never Ending ability can only be randomly assigned to a firearm or a weapon that requires reloadable charges to function. It's currently unknown what mods would need to be installed to gain such a bizarre combination but some also suggested that the combination could also be directly added via console commands.
Whatever the case may be, the Never Ending Baton is certainly a unique weapon in Fallout 4. When it comes to melee builds, it's usually recommended that players try and track down a Legendary weapon that sports the Instigating ability given that it'll deal double damage to a target that's at full health. This can be an incredibly powerful strategy, especially when combined with the additional power gained from successfully landing a sneak attack.
Fallout 4 is in the middle of a Renaissance as its community surges with veterans and newcomers alike following the success of Prime Video's streaming series based on the franchise. The game's popularity increased so drastically that Bethesda even released a new next-gen update to provide some additional content and performance tweaks. Unfortunately, the patch ended up breaking many of the mods the player base has come to know and love, prompting many to install additional add-ons to remove the update.
