Diablo IV: How To Get Resplendent Sparks (& How They Work)

In Diablo IV, you can acquire extremely rare crafting materials called resplendent sparks that can be used to create uber-unique loot. These were launched with Season 4 and are a great new way to get your hands on the game's most powerful, endgame items without completely relying on luck. However, finding enough of these incredibly rare materials to do so can be a challenge, as it requires completing some of the hardest content in Diablo IV.

This system was implemented as the community has been frustrated with how seemingly impossible it is to see an uber-unique item drop from a boss, let alone the specific one that you want. To tackle this issue, Blizzard is now allowing us to craft specific uber-unique items so that dedicated players can finally use these coveted pieces of gear. But, there is still a considerable grind to gather enough of the materials needed.

How To Find And Gather Resplendent Sparks

There are currently four ways to obtain resplendent sparks, of which only three are guaranteed. The easiest way is to complete Tier 18 with the Iron Wolves in Season 4 by completing objectives within the Helltide, which will grant you one. You can repeat this process on multiple characters for additional resplendent sparks, but can only obtain one per character this way.

Another way to acquire them is by defeating the Echo of Lilith and a Tormented Echo Boss for the first time during Season 4. Each of these challenges will reward one resplendent spark each, but it is account-wide, so defeating these bosses on additional characters for the first time will not drop any. If you are lucky enough for an uber-unique item to drop from Duriel or from the new Diablo 4 boss Andariel, you could salvage the item for one resplendent spark.

I don't recommend salvaging any uber-uniques unless you have duplicates.

Where And How To Use Resplendent Sparks

Once you have four resplendent sparks, you can visit the Alchemist and transmute them into any of the uber unique items. This will also cost a whopping 50,000,000 gold, so be sure to farm collections at the Tree of Whispers to load up on cash. By this point, though, you will likely have more gold than you know what to do with.

Some uber-unique items are more situational than others, requiring specific builds to make use of them effectively. Unless you have a specific one in mind, I recommend crafting the Harlequin Crest, a helm that provides a flat 20% damage reduction as well as +4 ranks for all of your skills. Uber uniques can drastically increase your character's power, allowing you to reach the pinnacle of your potential in Diablo IV.
