What Happened In Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Episode 7?
The Ranger Cadets Began Their Exams
Close
In Go! Go! Loser Ranger! episode #7, “The Zigzag Road to the Final Exam!”, following the cadets’ collective failure on the first day of the Bailong Exams, Shion, suspicious of D as Sakurama, told D about how he wanted to join the Ranger Force to find the boss monster responsible for killing his brother four years ago, something the Rangers deny happened. D was skeptical of Shion’s story, but only because all of the boss monsters should have been killed at that point, meaning that the Dragon Keepers lied about killing the boss monsters at the end of the war.
On the second day of the Bailong Exam, Shion and four other cadets teamed up against their partners to take the keys for themselves, forcing D to form a team with everyone else who their partners had abandoned. D and his team managed to get Suzukiri’s team, albeit by impressing her instead of overpowering her, but due to carelessness on the part of one of D’s teammates, Shion’s team stole the yellow key from them, so they now have to use the last day of the Bailong Exam to steal all five keys from their fellow cadets.
As all of that was happening, XX was discovered by a maintenance worker who, due to his dislike of fighting, wanted to find a way to settle things with her peacefully. However, before she could agree to anything, the maintenance worker was killed by Peltrola, the boss monster who killed Sakurama’s parents and Shion’s brother. XX, much to her displeasure, was forced to join his plot against the Ranger Force, and as the two left to carry out whatever Peltrola was plotting, they were seen by the Junior First Rank Ranger of the Blue Battalion, Aizome.
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Is Gearing Up For A Chaotic Climax
An Executive's Arrival Throws the Exams into Chaos
Everything that happened in Go! Go! Loser Ranger! episode #7 is paving the way for a chaotic climax for the anime. D and all the other cadets having to fight each other to decide the Bailong Exam is one thing, but now the climax of Go! Go! Loser Ranger! is sure to involve a boss monster and the Dragon Keepers fighting, and there’s no telling how things will progress from there. It’s sure to be as exciting a climax as a show like the Go! Go! Loser Ranger! anime deserves.
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! Continues to Excel at Plot Twists
Go! Go! Loser Ranger! episode #7 shows that the anime is still great at building tension through its pension for plot twists. For starters, the twist of the cadets getting into a civil war adds a new dimension of conflict to the arc, one that’s much more interesting than just making everyone find ways to defeat the Rangers. That also makes D and Shion’s conflict far more interesting, as while they’ll still likely need to learn to work together, D and Shion having to fight each other makes for much more interesting storytelling than keeping them on the same team.
The best twist, of course, came from Peltrola’s appearance. It’s one thing to find out that he was hiding out in the Ranger Force headquarters, but the idea that Peltrola will get involved with the Bailong Exam as he exacts his revenge on the Ranger Force completely changes the tone and scale of the arc, setting up a climax that’s sure to not only be big, but filled with more major revelations about the setting. Overall, there was a lot to love about Go! Go! Loser Ranger! episode #7, and episode #8 and beyond are sure to be even better.
Be sure to watch Go! Go! Loser Ranger! episode #8 when it releases on Sunday, June 2.
