After several delays, Zynga's free-to-play arena shooter, Star Wars: Hunters, is due to launch next month, and a new trailer has provided a better look at its gameplay, character and weapon customization, and more. It had previously been confirmed that Star Wars: Hunters would see players forming teams of four from a variety of characters, each with their own specific perks, to engage in third-person combat across a range of adventurous battlegrounds based upon iconic Star Wars worlds.

Zynga shared a new trailer for the game with Screen Rant that showed some of these characters in action, with two teams, the Gundarks and the Mudhorns duking it out across a variety of modes in what seems to be a combat-based sporting event on the Outer Rim Sports Network.

Star Wars: Hunters takes place on the planet Vespaara, host to around-the-clock Arena events.

These modes include the all-out assault mode Squad Brawl, in which the first team to reach 20 eliminations achieves victory, Trophy Chase, where the teams battle it out to see who can hold onto a Trophy Droid named TR0-F33 the longest, and Power Control, which involves gaining control of the majority of Control Points on the battlefield.

Star Wars: Hunters' New Trailer Showed Off Some Of Its Customization

There Are Cosmetics For Both Characters And Weapons

The new trailer showed off some of the specific cosmetics in the game, with glimpses at the customization menus for the Imperial heavy gunner, Sentinel, the Dark Side assassin, Rieve, and the bounty hunter, Imara Vex, with players seemingly able to switch out their characters' looks seamlessly mid-battle with the push of a button. Skins were also shown for each of Imara Vex's main Blaster Rifle, allowing for even further customization.

The official Star Wars: Hunters site previously confirmed that players would be able to unlock cosmetics for their Hunters by completing specific tasks or through Arena Passes and bundles, with 357 pieces of cosmetic content in total that will be available to acquire. It has been confirmed that Nintendo Switch players who play the game at launch will unlock the Shift Veteran costume and Shift Blaster wrap for Imara Vex, while those who pre-register on the site will unlock the following:

Exclusive "Raise Your Fist" emote

Amber Hunter cosmetic for Imara Vex

Amber Rifle cosmetic for Imara Vex's blaster

Exclusive "Bubo's Blue Milk" Avatar.

Exclusive "Ticket Invite" Avatar.

Considering how all of the characters in the game are being advertised as being new creations - albeit ones representing fan-favorite species or factions - Star Wars: Hunters players should be able to have plenty of fun making these characters their own with these unlockable designs. Having been announced in 2019, there's been a long wait for Star Wars: Hunters, but it will finally be launching on June 4 for Nintendo Switch, and both Android and iOS mobile devices, and is available to pre-download now.
