Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga star Anya Taylor-Joy has opened up about ground-breaking CGI used in the movie to make the transition from younger actor Alyla Browne to her seamless within the film. Furiosa is split into chapters, with the first two starring Browne as the titular character when she was a little girl. It's not until Chapter 3 that Taylor-Joy is portraying the character, leading to a transition that somehow feels natural despite the difference in the actors' ages.
According to Variety, while speaking on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," Taylor-Joy revealed how Furiosa utilized ground-breaking CGI to make Browne look more like her adult co-star as her portion of the movie went on. She explained how director George Miller pursued the idea, making Browne look 35% like Taylor-Joy by the start of the movie, and 80% like her by the end of Chapter 2. George Miller had the idea very early on. The audience was already getting used to a new Furiosa [Charlize Theron in ‘Fury Road’]. He wanted the transition from both actors [Browne and Taylor-Joy] playing her to be seamless. And so I did two days of the craziest things you could ever possibly imagine. And they mixed our faces together. It’s wild to see.
