Death by Lightning gets a promising new update as the show executive produced by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss moves forward. After bringing their epic adaptation of George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones book series to an end in 2019, Benioff and Weiss tackled another big adaptation with Netflix's 3 Body Problem. Now, the pair are executive producing Death by Lightning, a Netflix series created by Mike Wakowsky dramatizing the rise and assassination of U.S. President James Garfield by his close admirer, Charles Guiteau.
Now, ProductionList.com reveals that Death by Lightning is set to begin production on July 1, 2024, in Budapest, Hungary. The series does not yet have a release date.
